So wait you are saying you got sick 9 days after she exposed? Or am I misinterpreting what you said

In my case my girlfriend was at a conference Sunday through Wednesday. She got sick Friday morning and tested positive that afternoon. I started feeling bad that night but did not test positive until the following morning. So it's not really clear how long the virus was incubating before our symptoms showed up, but it seems pretty clear to me that whenever she came home with it, I caught it from her pretty quickly

Yup. I went and had 2 PCRs done because I couldn't believe that I didn't have it, we made zero effort to distance and were essentially side by side the whole time. We went to a restaurant Friday night and she went to the gym early the next morning, which was the last time she went out in public. I didn't get the fever/sore throat and test positive until the next Sunday, my birthday actually :lol:

It could have been that it was because I had already had it back in either December or November, maybe my body fought it off until the viral load became too much with 24/7 exposure. I also ended up with the flu so my immune system may have just been overwhelmed. When I tested positive on a work PCR in December I never even knew I was sick.

I also caught covid in December right at the beginning of omicron. It got me sick- I spiked a fever- but I was fully recovered within 24 hours.


I'm really hoping I've got enough antibodies to avoid catching it for longer than 6 months this time

I narrowly missed catching it... Was visiting my mom for a week, left on friday. She tested positive on monday.
(This was at the beginning of june.. she's fine now, took about two weeks to test negative.)

Our case rates are still 150% of what they were last month before all of the local events. We had potential exposure in a store two weeks ago, but were masked and contactless, and neither of us tested positive. The cold is also going around right now, so lots of people are dismissing potential covid as, "oh I just have the cold" cause they don't want to know what they have or allow their lives to be impacted.


Whatever this subvariant is is much more contagious.

That's wild. Apparently by me there's some kinda huge uptick in dumbass driving incidents so much so that now we have to pay to put grooves into off ramps because of the insane amount of wrong way drivers recently. :nonono:

It's like the thing they put in the dividers on the side the road to like wake u up if u drift out lane but is like on an off ramp so if u drive over it the wrong way it will cause vibration makes a bunch noise to alert your going the wrong way but the normal way it doesn't.

Were also getting "At 15 different locations that will actually have a 360-degree camera and if a vehicle is detected going the wrong-way, it's going to flash red led lights that will hopefully alert someone like, hey I'm going the wrong way and they stop" and also a ton more signage but they said the studies show that wrong way drivers aren't just drunk their completely hammered most the time that it's hard to reach these drivers so we're looking g to develop technologies that will alert law enforcement to the driver rather putting in a ton crazy shit to alert the driver

Seeing Twitter posts from ER and other docs saying this BA.5 variant is causing more serious illnesses, and that the numbers are growing quickly. Even people who had covid in the past few months are getting reinfected. Case numbers are almost useless at this point. Very few people are getting reportable testing done. Hospitalizations are starting to spike.
