Bj?rk
    #2774759 - 06/08/04 02:55 PM (13 years, 2 months ago)

Before I never really liked Bj?rk. But last summer at the Roskilde Festival I was on an ecstacy pill, white smiley (probably mdma and acid... thats what it felt like) and watched bj?rk perfrom, that was such a beautiful experience. And yesterday I heard one song of hers on the Radio and just thought, damn I gotta get a cd of hers. Its sweet and trippy music. Anyone here like this music?

Bjork is by far my favorite artist of all time.  You should check out her video dvd if you like the music.  Awesome video's!  The one for all is full of love has these two robots that are kissing while the machines finish putting them both together.     And the Live at Royal Opera house dvd is great also.  Not to mention any cd by her

I'd say either homogenic or vespertine. Hmm probably homogenic more though because All is full of love is just great. Anytime I trip I usually end up listening to that one track for hours, while laying down.

If you like that cd you should check out the dvd with all of her videos.  There's something like 21 videos on it.  Hyperballad's video is awesome, sort of like her being in a video game.  The one with the liquid patterns just moving across her face is also pretty trippy as they say

Cool. There are two videos I remember from her, both really cool. One is all cartoon, I'm sure you know which one I'm thinking about, and this one that shows northern landscapes, mountains and rocks... alot of smooth round pepples which seem to breathe *trippy*

Didnt she play in some musical movie? Is that any good?

She was in dancer in the dark, I haven't gotten to pick it up yet, because i dislike ordering things usually, and best buy stopped carrying it in the stores when i remembered to get it. She was also in a movie called "the juniper tree" (Plot Summary: Margit and her older sister, Katla, flee their homeland in Iceland after their mother is killed for practicing witchcraft...) The landscape video that you're talking about is Joga. That's another of my favorite tripping videos also. I know the cartoon one you're talking about but for the life of me I can't remember the name of the song. It starts off with that little insect bug thing.

Dancer in the Dark is the most poignant (that is to say, heart-wrenchingly sad) film ever. EVER. Period.

On a related note, a friend of mine held a party some months ago. He's particularly enthused about technology (a masterful understatement), so he produly displayed the projector he... borrowed. It just so happened that my girlfriend and I had decided to take some pills (presumed to be largely MDMA) on that occasion. We spent hours on end watching Bj?rk film clips and... well, I'm sure our other exploits don't interest you. The moral of the story is... well, I suppose I've forgotten that too. Suffice it to say that there was much enjoyment.

Vespertine was the first Bjork cd I bought. Very good to listen to when you want to chill out or about to take a nap.

I paid an extortionate amount of money to an eBay tout for 2 tickets to that concert, still money well spent though, she was incredible

--------------------
The above is an extract from my fictional novel, "The random postings of Edame".

In the beginning was the word. And man could not handle the word, and the hearing of the word, and he asked God to take away his ears so that he might live in peace without having to hear words which might upset his equinamity or corrupt the unblemished purity of his conscience.

And God, hearing this desperate plea from His creation, wrinkled His mighty brow for a moment and then leaned down toward man, beckoning that he should come close so as to hear all that was about to be revealed to him.

"Fuck you," He whispered, and frowned upon the pathetic supplicant before retreating to His heavens.
