I love Björk.
There's nary a song in her catalogue I dislike. Every album touches and moves me. I think she's one of the greatest vocal talents that modern music has ever seen.

I think of Bjork as like a female Trent Reznor, without the self-loathing. The first time I got REALLY high (first 2 trys weren't great), I was sitting in my friend's car with 12" subs listening to Hyperballad. When the bass started, I felt like a spinning fetus in a blanket of fuzz.

Both Vespertine & Medulla are awesome to trip to. A couple of trips back I felt like I had literally melted into the clear light whilst listening to Hidden Places.
She's supposed to be working on a new album - I've had to make do by buying the Army of Me cover versions & remixes album recently, which is interesting, alarming and hysterically funny in equal measures.

To be fair she had been hassled endlessly for the previous few days by that journalist - bordering on stalking and invasion of privacy.
Funny clip though!

I've been enchanted with bjork's music for nearly 15 years now... (oh my gosh I'm getting old... we'll all be dead soon!) She has been ahead of here time, or at the very least thoroughly immersed in and parallel to her own time. Perhaps one to the greatest musicians of the whole 20th century and likely the 21st. I can actually say with some degree of certainty the album Post literally changed who I am as an individual.

I agree, bjork is amazing! I got into her music when my friend gave me this video for my birthday: Director's Series, Vol. 3 - The Work of Director Michel Gondry (2003)
Its got a ton of Bjork's best videos. But its not the flashy visuals that hooked me, its that beautiful, perky, sexy, coquettish voice, her moving orchestral backing, and the smart-yet-groovy beats in a lot of her songs. I like abstract rhythms up to a point, but if they get too indulgent, its not fun to listen to anymore. Bjork's beats are perfect in that regard. Who would have thought Rhazel and Bjork would work together so perfectly!

actualy medulla isn't really reflective on the rest of them... it is of course in essense but it has it's one spacial "sound" and is probably the first of its kind (the whole albume is made only with vocals... although everything went through the computer it's all a human voice (AMAZING trust me!)
it might be a little hard to chew on if you're closed minded but for me right now its one of my favourits on the play list...
and if anyone wants to know how exectly it was made i highly recommend DLing the video "the making of Medulla" it's very interesting!

I have a friend that built a shrine to her durring a acid trip. He came to the realization that she was a living muse communicating the will of the cosmos via her voice durring the come down.
It was a pretty cool shrine and he kept it up for awhile.

if you go to www.allmusic.com and type in her name they have descriptions of all her albums as well as a 1-5 star rating system. that's where i go when i'm unsure where i want to start with a certain band.

Oh my goodness, I was at an exhibition the other day with burlesque dancing and the opening act put on such a beautiful performance that I had to ask her what the name of the song was. She told me Bjork - I Miss You.
It has only been 2 days and right now Bjork is owning my soul. Her voice is incredible, her videos thought provoking,

There's nary a song in her catalogue I dislike. Every album touches and moves me. I think she's one of the greatest vocal talents that modern music has ever seen.

you're a fucking...
oh that's it, you are a fucking.
PS: bjork is awesome. love her music and has some DEPTH.

i find this to be truly beautiful, the way she is playing with tones and practicing the verses. i completely melt when she starts singing in islenska towards the end 2:23 it is euphoric, i would die to be in that room
1996 Rare Demo

Watch out, hard, hard drums. In some of her songs, I feel that there is such a primal root.. I think that is what gets me.

its pretty deep too, the most detailed art ive ever seen in a manga and story thats sometimes panels and panels of text. it balances this of course with ultra gore.
