ID Request - Donkey Dung in Northern Florida
    #27614458 -

Greetings friends! I found some intriguing mushrooms and was hoping for a better idea of what they are. They were found growing on donkey dung in Northern Florida in early January, medium to high humidity with temperatures 68-73*F in day and 50-60*F at night. There are oak trees somewhat nearby but not found directly beneath them. They were definitely emerging from the dung and not the soil beneath.

Habitat: Donkey Dung
Gills: Light grey to brown Gills, seemingly attached
Stem: Grey to light tan, 2.5 to 6 inches, thin approx. 0.25 to 0.5 inch diameter, solid stem not hollow, texture solid with ridges running the length. No volva found at base.
Cap: Young mushrooms 1 to 1.75 inch diameter, spherical to hemishpherical to convex
Older mushrooms 2 to 4.5 inch diameter, hemispherical to convex to conical
Spore print color: Unable to get proper print, but what little dropped was dark brown or black
Bruising: Tan or light brown, no blue or significant change in color.
Other information: Typical earthy mushroom smell like button mushrooms from the store

👁️ 🌊 why you are empty.

Hunt for the habitat not the mushroom.
