Corona kills like 4x as many people as the flu and can have detrimental lasting effects on the lungs and your senses.

I don't know any flu that can make you blind, lose your sense of taste and lose your sense of smell. But hey, just the flu.

This entire thread is semantics, cherry picked stats, and the virtual ignorance that other viruses do exist and do kill people.

CDC estimates that flu has resulted in 9 million – 41 million illnesses, 140,000 – 710,000 hospitalizations and 12,000 – 52,000 deaths annually between 2010 and 2020.

If influenza deaths were recorded like covid-19 deaths they would probably be much higher. I've never once seen an autopsy report that said influenza and I've read thousands. They simply don't use it as a metric even though that is probably what killed the person. Instead it's labeled as it should be cancer, heart failure, sepsis, etc...

If influenza deaths were counted the same way as Covid deaths, the worst flu season in the last decade killed 15,620 people.

Comparing Covid to the flu has been one of the dumber takes I’ve seen throughout the pandemic.

COVID comes through with precautions in place... lockdowns, masks, distancing... hospitals are still over run and numerous cities and states rent refrigerated trucks to hold all the bodies, separate COVID wards need to be setup, national guard is brought in.

Flu comes through with zero precautions in place (no masks, distancing, lockdowns) and maybe some hospital staff notice that there are a few more pneumonia/flu patients than usual.

And then of course there’s the excess deaths...


You literally have to have your head in the sand to not understand this stuff by now
