Imagine that in your family, one of the boys or girls has to haul a pail of 8 gallons/30 liters, back and forth, barefoot in the merciless heat, over and over, 4, 6 or 8 hours a day. Can't attend school, just haul water. And WHAT water? dirty water from shit creak that animals defecated and died in, filthy water you cant boil cause you dont got firewood, so the fam gets sick, and the little ones under 5yo more than most and frequently die.

Then! Word from the village chief: a man with a plan is gonna come and we're gonna dig a hole up to 100 foot deep and make it a well and ecveryubody will have clean water right nextdoor. The cleanest water any of you ever tasted.

They come, they enlist volunteers from the community and this is what happens:

And about 2 weeks later: crystal clear water. so sweet and healthy! The kids can go to school cause they dont have to haul water all day, it becomes easier to do little side projects like grow some peppers for cooking.

The village blooms, 700-1400 people
