they say that vitamin C plays a role in it.... but there's no evidence that I know of.

Well, I doubt that a serious study has been made on this subject; lots of scientific researches are done wrong; and be honest: how do you measure a trip? How do you compare it? How can you make a decent conclusion?

Very difficult; so I'll just tell about my experience:
'bout 15 trips without orange juice; 1/2times I tripped hard (same dose, no tolerance) but just chewing on them;  the come-up is usually 45-60 minutes after the first chewing.

Last time I bought a little bottle of orange juice; threw mush-powder in it and stirred for 10 minutes. Then I drank it (which wasn't bad actually, the first time I didn't have the urge to vomit), and after 15 minutes or so; I could already feel some effects and another 30 minutes later, my mind was shattered beyond any reasonable belief.

You don't have to take my advice; but I'll take it! from now on; I'll use that sweet juice! :smile:

psilocin is soluble in acid but almost insoluble in water but your stomach contains acid anyway so provided you eat the mushrooms you will get both the actives... but maybe not as fast/ together as...

we usually blend fresh shrooms in fruit juice just before drinking to free the trapped psilocin and probably take it into solution (contains a tertiary amine easy to protonate even by citric acid) the psilocybin would go into solution anyway. This means it all hits soon and heavy (we like that). If you have badly dried shrooms you may have little psilocin left to worry about.

so psilocin is soluble in acid... so if i were to make mushroom tea i would get more psilocin into the tea if i squeeze half a lemon in there? Or is it still to "watery"? Well, obviously i would have to make luke warm tea not to destroy it in the first place.
