Orange juice and shrooms?

Twice in the past month my friend ate 2 grams of mushrooms and felt no effect while the rest of us tripped balls. Both nights he drank 6-8 screwdrivers throughout the night, before he drank them. All the vitamin C and citrus acid in the orange juice is the only reason i could think of for why he didn't feel anything. Can drinking that much orange juice before hand make it so that you cant feel the effects of the mushrooms at all?

It's possible, but there isn't any known mechanism for such action.

It's interesting that you brought this up as there is a widely propagated myth that vitamin C enhances shroom trips (though this hasn't been conclusively demonstrated either).

I'm sure that it is just a myth. Everything I've read says that vitamin C negates the effects of mushrooms. When I was in Amsterdam, they sold an anctedote for tripping in case it got to be too much, which was a shot of highly concentrated vitamin C and Guarana.

The alchohol in the drink may have had something to do with it. Don't those screwdrivers have a lot of booze in them?

ive tried the orange juice method, then i stepped my game up and went for the horses mouth and bought a bottle of vitamin c pills... i think they each contained 500-1000 mg per pill and i would eat like 5-10 of them.

i dont know if it ever actually added anything.... but i for sure tripped balls... now that i think about it... even if it was placebo... still rocked my world and is worth futher study.

That's amazing. There are some pretty vicious arguments here about the "vitaminc C enhances trips" claim. Many people around these parts get upset when someone contradicts that claim, because "everyone knows that it's true."

usually when I am tripping too hard I eat an orange or drink orange juice and it brings me back down to a contollable state. the orange at the time is like the best thing in the world while biting into it.

i think OJ helps to intesify the visuals. on my last dose i drank OJ and tripped really hard
