alternative PC?

is using a water bath/canner like the one found on mycosupply basically the same as using a pot? is it less likely to have contams than a pot, cuz thats all it sounds like, a pot.. its probably way less useful than a pressure cooker, but is it worth the 20 bucks?

I used the oven before I got my PC. I found that the oven was giving better results (less contam) than when boiled in a pot.

Yeah its a pot and you boil them.I used this until I got my pc and it works pretty good,damn good I should say.The only reason I quit useing it was so I could use WBS,thus needing a pc.
But it works great.

Get a PC. It is definitely worth it. You'll want to do more than just PF-tek and you'll need a pressure cooker. Also I've known people that didn't succeed at all until they got one and then they were doing bulk soon after that.

You could go on ebay and get a decent PC for $20-$40 dollars. I have one that is from the 70's, but it is big, and was only $20 including shipping. It works great.

Go ahead and get an all american pressure cooker. It is worth every penny. I got a 921 when I started growing and it can do 10 quart jars at a time. It's worth every penny I paid for it.
