All American vs Presto Cookers

I've decided my pressure cooker is way too small, and it's time to upgrade to at least 21qt. After shopping around a bit I've noticed I can get an equivlent Presto brand cooker for a fair bit cheaper than all american. Is there any actual difference between the two brands.....is it worth the extra money?

All american has no parts that need to be replaced in time, because they use a metal on metal seal. I have heard great things about them.

AA PCs are very rugged and reliable. They'll last forever if taken care of properly. Also, if you ever get out of the hobby, they sell on the used market for very high prices; just check out Ebay. I'm not sure the same cannot be said of other brands. Good luck with whatever you decide... -Diploid

If you have the money, go the the All-American...they are stainless steel, and no rubber gasket to foul and leak.
If you don't have the money, get the presto.
If the difference ends up being you getting a 16qt All-American vs the 30+quart Presto....I would get the Presto. The extra space saves so much time! Now all I need is the cash for another 41qt All-American =)

The All American is a single piece of machined cast aluminum. They are very sturdy and can handle higher pressures. They also seal making a vacuum upon cooling, they do not suck air back into the PC. All-American style PC's are the prefered high end pressure cooker, its perfect for working in environments where you have a flow hood, want total sterility and need high volume PC'ng.
Go All American if you can afford it. Its a professional canner. The presto can do the same job, you'll just have a nicer time with the AA. Plus it'll last forever, you can gift it to your grandkids :-)
