Do it sometime they are gone. I don't suggest you do it since your parents don't know. If you do be carefull and don't be stupid.

You can get Autoclavable Plastic Jars (Not sure where, JLF sells them, already prepared). If you take your substrate, pre-mix it, fill the jars, poke a hole in the top of the jar (a little bigger than usual) and then microwave for 10 minutes, let sit for 5 and then nuke it for 10 more minutes, then immediately tape the hole up and let it cool.

You may have to add extra water to compensate for the escaping steam.

I have found that microwave sterilization CAN work (I don't pressure cook my agar or liquid innoculant anymore, I just nuke it for 10 minutes and it's been working pretty damned good, however don't try to nuke rye or bird seed, you'll most likely end up with contams.

BTW, I have a shitty microwave too, so you may need to adjust your times more or less.
