Keloid scars
    #2687156 - 05/16/04 03:16 PM (19 years, 10 months ago)

Does anybody know how to get rid of these? (aside from a scalpel)

Maybe if you took that piece of shrapnel out of your ear then you wouldn't have that anymore. Sorry I don't mean to sound harsh but it looks like that's waht's causing it. That's the only thing I can think of.

Your piercer may be able to procure you some tea tree oil, which may help. I'm not sure that's a keloid scar, a hypertrophic scar should respond to tea tree oil, and a keloid scar may.

Other than that, options include steroid injections and surgery.

Edit: Removing the jewelry will very likely not help.

ive been givin tea tree oil for cystic acne scars and it kinda sorta worked. definitely ask a piercer, but in my opinion your best bet may be making an appointment with a dermatologist, they handle that kinda shiut day in and day out. me personally, ive branded an A into my left deltoid region 3 times with a coat hanger heated on a gas stove, but im not tryin to get rid of this one, its tight as fuck man. good luck. if anything, atleast call and try to speak with a dermatologist if u dont waana pay to see one.

I wouldn't use Tea Tree Oil, it's usually too harsh for piercings. You can try vitamin E rubs(just buy vit E in the gel caps and poke a hole in them to get the gel out) or you can try an asprin paste(just get some asprin and crush it up and mix with a little water to make a paste). Since I can't see the back side of the ear I can't really tell it the problem is caused by poor placement or not. It placement is causing the problem then the best idea is to take it out, let it heal, and get it redone by a more compitent piercer. If you have anymore questions just PM me

I got that same thing a few years ago, I took the ring out and it disappeared. However, I just got my Targus done and I got it again. I'm just using H2O2. It helps alittle.

On the topic of keloids, I tripped while holding a knife and stabbed myself in the neck and have a keloid there. I like it.

First off, I don't think that is keloid scar tissue. It just looks like tissue your body created as a cushion to compensate for the pressure that industrials can put on your ear. I had that for a while with my industrial.
