I just today got a memo stating my aops have been removed from the shroomery irc channel. I have no clue why. It says a poll was taken and all admins have voted yes to my aops being removed due to abuse reasons, etc.
I don't think i have done anything wrong at all. I banned, we'll call him, "4GCactus" once or twice because i thought he was supposed to be banned since no one really likes him and him and his army of losers are under intense speculation for the recent DDOS attacks against The Shroomery.
Otherwise I'd like to note that i have been an active member on irc chat way before i was even aware of the shroomery boards, almost 5 years now. I have spent a lot of my spare time in shroomery shooting the shit and i can definitely say i've spent more time in there the past 5 years than any of you guys combined. I understand geokills feels the need to suck up to "4gcactus" to keep him happy, but i really feel like i have been raped since now i'm diminished to a low status, a n00b status after i've spent literally years on chat.
Call me a loser or whatever you want, but I'd appreciated the consideration of giving me back my aops and at the very least stating some reasons why they were removed in the first place.

why must the admins mettle with something
dont take part in is beyond me.
ive been going in #shroomery for Months now
on a regular basis & i have never seen a bb admin
participate longer than 2 minutes, come to think of it
i cant remember the last time i seen a bb admin in there.
In the months ive been in #shroomery,
i have NEVER seen jnny abuse her aops...
i've never seen her kick or ban anyone either.
Jnny is one of the best spirited shroomerites we have,
and she is one of the reasons why many ppl stay, including myself.
Jnny DOESNT deserve this.
please give her aops back.

Vamp is a technical admin, makes the bb
run smoothly, is the MOST practical
person out of the bunch &
gets the least amount of credit. 
Vamp is one of the coolest dudes ive ever met...
it'd be nice if he had more voice around here.
he is one of the few admins that actually
has a passion for the community.

Maybe the server just needs 1 automated aop (non human) per room, but I don't know if that would work very well. It would resolve any one user being above another.
As long as you can chat, that should be all that matters.

I agree that Vamp has way more to say on the issue than me, I spent what, 10 mins a week on chat?
These concerns are not being ignored, please understand even though we may seem slow sometimes that things will be right in the end.

Right now is a dangerous time to be an op in #shroomery, what with people revoking peoples' AOp privileges for no stated reason, and in this light I had neuro remove my AOp status as well. If someone who's been here for 5 years gets their AOps taken away, what's someone who's only been on the chat for two and a half years got to say?
Put things right, or at least justify yourself in your actions. This kind of behaviour makes me wonder how much some Shroomery admins model themselves after US politicians in their methods of operation -- when in doubt, no comment.

bots (automated clients) dont properly handle abuse. The entire purpose of having ops in the first place.
Thats like having the forums here with no mods or admins to take care of problems.

We don't model ourselves after anyone. We are just normal people who sometimes make rash decisions, sometimes even make bad decisions.
When you make a decision you might regret, don't you think that its best you make it right this time around by not being rash to change things again?
