My bag is taking forever! I can finally see the myc thru the bottom window. I broke it up about two weeks ago to help speed it up but its suuuuper slow. I’m hoping it will be done in like 2 weeks.

Well, I Want To Start Off By Saying, I Am A Mushroom Hunter, Not A Cultivator, & This Is My First Grow. I Do Not Care About The Results Too Much As This Was An Experiment & I Wont Be Growing In This Residence Again. Just Wanted To Share My Results.

I Used A Colombian Rust Syringe. I Did The Same Thing That ThisIsMyShroomAcct Did, Except I Didn't Spawn To Bulk. I Birthed, Dunked, Rolled, & Stuck It In A Regular Ole SGFC.

First Sign Of Pins


Misted & Fanned 1-2 Times A Day.


A Small Trich Spot Appeared On The Cake.


So I Covered It In A Salt/Water Paste.


It Seemed To Have Slowed Down The Trich.


Then, Tiny Brown Spots Appeared On The Stems Of My Fruits.


So I Harvested A Few Of The Bigger Fruits & Scraped The Brown Spots. Some Had Spots, Some Didn't. A Few Small Pins Accidentally Came Up With The Bigger Guys.


I Know That Fruits Grown On A Trich Contaminated Substrate Are Still Edible, & I'm Not Too Worried About The Brown Spots Either. I Will Eat Them & Then Report Back The Potency.

Edit: EXTREMELY POTENT
Took .2 & Got A 1-2 Gram Trip. Unbelievable, Should've Just Been A Microdose. Im Thinking This Is Genetics, Not Substrate.

Try the Tupperware section lol.
I've seen tiny little totes. But you could also just fruit it like a cake or use aluminum tray. Or maybe even go ahead and spawn to a shoe box idk what that spawn ratio would be but I'm sure it would work.

as I was breaking this up some of the rice smooshed up, is this mean it’s susceptible to contam?!

that is expensive for what it is. I have a grow on a supermarket own brand rice and it is €0.59 which is US 65cent for 250g. I imagine you will find similar own brands cheaper. But if going for more than a few bags it is not really economical.

Prep is simple. Boil water. Throw in rice. Set a timer for 10 minutes. Dump it out.

Pre-cooked is way expensive.

You Can Also Fruit These Uncle Ben Cakes Straight From The Bag. When It's Fully Colonized, You Take It Out Of The Bag (Without Damaging The Bag) & Dunk For 24hrs.
Then, Roll It In Dry Verm. Cut The Bag Down To About 2 Inches In Height (The Bags Stand On Their Own) & Place The Cake Back In The Bag. That Should Leave About 3 Or So Inches Of The Cake Exposed.
Then, Poke A Few Holes In A Quart Sized Ziploc Baggie & Slip The Baggie Over The Cake, Zip It Firm So It Doesn't Slide Down, But Leave Room For FAE & Room For Pin Growth.
Lightly Mist Once Or Twice A Day & Fan With A Book.

P.S This Will Only Yield 1-3 Grams Dry

Edit: I Take Back The 1-3 Grams Dry, You Could Get More.

that is pretty poor. A 250g pouch of UB rice where I am has 76g carbs in it. Going off their dry rice this equates to 105g of regular bagged rice (which includes its natural moisture content).

So if you were to get a BE of 200% you would get 210g fresh.

I have used silicone tube filters on the pouches, you can snip the corner of the pouch and fold over the silicone tube and slip it into the bag, when you release it expands out and makes a tight seal. I micowave to resterilize and also to drive off moisture allowing you to add a lot more LC. The needle can slip into the pouch between the silicone tube and the packet.

This is what the silicone filters look like, in this case in a glass jar.

Yeah, I Agree But Like I Said, It Was Just An Experiment.

I Saw Alot Of Folks Saying "Uncle Bens Won't Fruit As A Cake, Because There Is No Vermiculite To Hold Water Content, Like In A BRF Cake."

So I Wanted To See For Myself, & It Works But The Yield Is Crap. This Is For Someone Who Just Wants "Enough To Trip".

I Have No Reason To Grow Anyway, I Can Find More Cubes Than I Could Ever Grow.

You rolled yours in verm though, so was basically cased. I would not expect much out of it if there was no form of casing at all, you can get some shrooms growing but its far from ideal.

You should get several flushes from it, sounds like you might have just taken 1? I am just saying 1-3g would be unusually low, in case others are put off with the idea. My current MS grow on pouch rice looks reasonable enough.

A PF cake has ~31grams of rice flour in it, and the 250g pouches have about 105g of dry rice.

This is my current one, 204.6g fresh from 250g pouch rice with a coir casing on the first flush, MS to a minature PF cake, so a tiny bit more rice flour from that too. Will have to get dry weights.





EDIT- ended up 17.1g cracker dry
