Open it, then File -> Export -> PDF...
Print it on a paper, then cut it out with scissors and try to fit inside.

That thing is PCB board.
Sensor, capacitor and 4 wires need to be soldered on it.
Then "siliconed", then inserted into sheath until bottom of sheath meets with wider bottom part with holes.
The narrow part is about 8mm in width.

But all of that is really only in my head, I still don't really know how you want it, how you want to place sensor into that sheath.

I will continue with my board (17mm width) to have at least something to solder sensor on instead of generic boards. It will allow me to progress with epoxy compound and I really want to try sensor with cap.

8mm would be perfect but it would need to be 8mm all the way through like a rectangle. For right now I guess the smart thing would be to make sure the sheath even works with the sensor I got. I will cut the sensor board down to fit inside the sheath making sure not to cut any traces. And if it works to my satisfaction I will have some PCB made up. I sure hope the sheath works that is the only reason I started all this.

So how do I make this setup switch a relay at preset values and how hard would it be to make it easy to adjust said values? So I would not have to hook the Arduino up to a computer to do so?

If you don't want to go into all that? I will figure it out. You have been a wealth of knowledge and help. I would have been lost without your help and I appreciate you more than I can say!!!! THANK YOU!!!

I'm not sure if you ever used electronics web-sites like RS-components etc, because Amazon is not exactly that. But I was able to find following:

And there should be crimp terminals that you would insert into headers, but I cannot find them to be sold as many as you need, only in many dollars, like this one.

It is much easier to do on specific site for electronics. I would use RS-components, I know for sure they have UK version, can you check if they have USA version? They have literally everything.

For control you need 5V direct current board, pick one that you like.

For cable I would suggest to take any unused USB cable and cut its connectors off on both sides.
USB cables have exactly 4 wires and are plentiful in any house on the planet.

I will just solder the wire.

So how do I make this setup switch a relay at preset values (like turn on at 80% humidity and off at 90% humidity). Also how hard would it be to make it easy to adjust said values? So I would not have to hook the Arduino up to a computer to do so? Maybe have buttons to adjust or even better a touch screen. Find out how much the components would be to purchase.  I will send you the money in PayPal for you to buy what we need. It is the least I can do for your help.

OK, let discuss that.

First question, do you like this OLED display, its brightness and contrast?

Second question, did you buy Uno shield similar to what I have done?

Third, do you have buttons like this? Preferably four (4)?


You can solder wires, but the whole point it to be dis-connectable. Because otherwise you gonna re-solder it all the time something is going wrong or we continue our experimentation.

I do not have a problem with the OLED display, its brightness and contrast are fine. I just think it is a little small. I have the uno and the mega board. I do not have any buttons. I can buy them if I need to. That is why I suggested the touch screen I thought it might be easier to use and make the different adjustments. But I don't know anything about putting this together so whatever you suggest we will do that.

Well, there are few things to consider:

Touch screen is too much for Uno.
Touch screen consumption is not optimal for portable devices if we go battery powered way.
Touch screen is huge which is its strength and weakness depending on what we want to archive.

Our initial goal was (and probably is) to confirm that we can deal with the sensor. So lets prove that first before anything else.

We already achieved communication with sensor. Lets focus on real scenario measurements:
-- for me it would be to "silicone" it, to use proper compound and test it with my fog making bucket-type device. To check it somehow with known good RH-measuring device. I have already ordered PCB, it is currently in production (10 pieces).
-- for you it would be to "silicone" it and to put it into your sheath and test it. I still believe that it will be clogged and you will have no way to clean it. Because spores will always clog everything. For me it is rather how to clean it effectively, that is why I want to achieve smooth and flush surface so it is easily cleaned.

Thus to prove sensor we still can go simplistic, we do not need fancy touch screens etc for now.
If you want adjustments while we proving sensor -- it is fine. We can just add few very cheap buttons and go from there. But you still on breadboard stage, you should assemble some kind of a device now so we can progress and use it in real live scenario. How will you bring your breadboard mess into you chamber? You can only do it in form of a device.

I have already bought the same board you bought to put everything on. I also bought a cord to go from the board into my room so only the sensor will be inside my room. I have a very accurate humidity sensor to be able to check the accuracy of the humidity reading of the sensor. Without having the relay working it will be a little more difficult but I can make it work. Looks like my epoxy will be here Monday. I have already made a silicone mold to be able to the board watertight.

I agree with everything you said above. best to make sure things are working as we go along once everything is working improvements can be made.

Good, relay is not a problem at all. Buy one of the 5V dc relay boards (with 1 or more relays) I provided link above and we make a plan for some set points. But if you want to adjust set-points without reprogramming -- we will need some buttons, there is still plenty space on the shield to solder on.

So I think assemble the shield, "silicone" the board and put it in for test and report the results.
Meanwhile I'll wait for my deliveries, it can take few weeks.
Also during that time we can add buttons for setpoints adjustment.

I already have 10 amp relays that I bought. but I went ahead and bought some 15 amp relay because my high-pressure pump is 11.5 amps. The way it is set up now I have 2 relays so I will be able to eliminate one of the relays.

I bought the buttons also.

I am a little confused about the above. On the breadboard the 5v is going to the high volt side which is how it should be as I understand it. but on the above, the 5v is going to the low volt side. Am I missing something? I am confused.

The photo with parts was just to lay them out on the shield.
And yes, that converter board should be rotated 180 degrees.



Can you show your relays? Because if they are not 5V, we will have to come up with another conversion.
