Warren now (predictably) pulling a Kamala Harris by furthering watering down her support for Medicare For All, calling it a framework. No, it’s a god damn 100 page bill that Bernie Sanders wrote and you didnt co sign.

“She’s better than Bernie!”
No
“Ok well she’s as good as Bernie”
No
“Ok well she’s good at things that Bernie isn’t”
No
“Ok well she has a better chance of beating Trump”
No
“Ok well you’re a sexist”

Go buy your own health insurance or don't.  I don't want any American to be forced into paying for someone else's well being.

Take care of yourselves.

Are you in the top 5%?  Otherwise, you won't be forced into paying for someone else's well being; they'll pay for yours.  And if you are in the top 5%, you can easily afford health insurance.

I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

I can't wait until the U$D ceases to be the world's reserve currency.

You're being propped up economically by the rest of the world and still your 0.1% rake in the money so fast that 1 in 5 Americans is on food stamps.

We, the world, are tired of enriching you for you to blow it on wars and lavish spending.

There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that “my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.” Issac Asimov

Care to elaborate on what this means ?  As the worlds reserve currency the US dollar is stored, as a rule, in all International banks and all transactions are translated into US dollar amounts ? And this somehow benefits Washington...

In a nutshell: The US Dollar is used as the worlds reserve currency and also as the default currency for international trade in oil and other goods.

This means that the US dollar consists of the economies of not just the USA, but in part also of parts of the economies of most nations in the world.

But, the Federal reserve prints surplus dollars. Inflation, as you know, is tax, because by printing surplus dollars you devalue all dollars that exist in favor of the people who get toi spend those surplus dollars first, to get them into circulation.

What this means is that the US Federal Reserve is tapping a wealth reserve of essentially - the world - in facor of its own interests, which are US-centric.

This means that for decades now, the USA has been taxing the world so they can live the high life -- 5% of the worlds population running through 25% of the resources.

You're playing bank in the worldwide monopoly game and your dollars come at a price.

Because the model of money created as debt keeps increasing the circulating money supply, the US Fed's con on the world is inevitably getting bigger and bigger - or it will collapse, and the world increasingly doesnt want to be used as the Fed's cash cow so they withdraw from dollar participation - in which case the $ ponzi scheme, too, will crash.

So you have a scenario where on both the up side and the downside it can only crash - at the expense of the USA.

Uncle Sam's free piggyback ride on the back of the world economy is over.

One of the things the US had going for it for the past 50 years or so is free money pouring in from abroad because the dollar was arbitrarily used as a focal point for trade. That focal point is moving away from the dollar, and that means that to all the great problems the US faces today, the ceasing of the flow of free money fro9m abroad is added.

The US is still getting the flow of capital from around the world. US stock markets have the largest outperformance relative to global markets in over 40 years.

It's not like there's any competition from other central banks today, the ECB is a basket case, Japan is the same and China has is own issues.  As a result, the US Dollar continues to make recent all-time highs.

The US is also likely to go back to 0% interest rates and possibly negative rates on T-bonds. Will that make any difference?  Not likely is my guess.

Over my head but I find it crazy that the dollar is used as a “base rate” on transactions between non-us countries.  I suppose because we have had the largest and most successful economy, perhaps still do, and this is stability.

All National Banks are one centrally led network and the US got to be lucky pig.

The world is changing though.

If all national banks are a network that is centrally led wouldn’t it make sense that this central authority be composed of an international panel of some kind as opposed to one specific nation state?

The US has the most powerful military in the world we call the shots. However decades of leadership with short term plans means the time of the US being a world power is limited. China and India will be the nations of the future not the US.
