I'm good at them if I get around to them, and I'm generally better at them if I don't have any help. I find that when someone offers to help, they generally do a worse job than I would have done on my own. Which might be just because I tend to be very methodical and precise about stuff.

Having said that, painting specifically is a skill that I have not yet mastered so someone with experience will still probably beat me on that quality wise.

I enjoy D.I.Y. I just invest some time watching a YouTube video on how to install or fix and make it happen. I believe lots of people don’t understand how much money they can save and how simple some tasks are to accomplish.

Syncing a new garage door opener to your garage motor for example. You push a button on the machine and hold down the button on the clicker and wait for the machine to blink. That’s it.

I had a buddy pay a service fee for someone to come out and do that. $50 for less than 5 minutes of work. Then, he got suckered into paying more money to have his garage door rails and chains lubed. Sure, preventative maintenance doesn’t hurt but still.

I'm pretty alright. If I don't know how to do something, I learn..

I had a major ghostly experience. Something shattered my oven glass and there's no logical explanation.

Had to rebuild my entire house after Hurricane Harvey, so if I wasn't good at it before, I'm damn good now. Done a little bit of everything at this point. Tile is a motherfucker. I have a newfound respect for people who do that for work. Fucking all day on your knees is killer.
It was all even harder because you were basically living in a construction zone, and having to move your life around whatever mess you were making just made everything that much more difficult.

I'll hang ceiling fans, change light switches, minor repairs, lay stones for paths, some landscaping, caulking, painting, spackling, lay tile, change a sink out, faucets, etc...I'm pretty handy actually.:nursemaryjane:

Pretty bad.

I can paint, but that is about it. I mean, I've changed out ceiling fans and light switches, but nowadays I just call a guy.

I am pretty good at fixing and making things but nowadays I usually pay someone from a low-wage country to do it for me

I'll have a go, can and do pretty much everything that isn't structural on my house. There's always things I figure out the first time I do a job that I wish I knew before. Darn hindsight.

I won't fuck with gas lines though. Too risky to learn the hard way.

I've rebuilt my whole house from the sub-floor up to the roof. The only thing I didn't do was fill the A/C lines with refrigerant and install the granite counter-tops. I just need to rebuild the front room, but I will probably hire a framer for that even though I could do it. I just want it done quickly.

Besides that I've also been a part of 1,000's of building projects, mostly electrical, but really a little bit of everything. Electrically I can do anything from repairing an outlet to wiring whole factories, hospitals, and malls.

Im pretty decent at it. I dont call them chores thou, chores are like taking out of the trash or doing the dishes. Home Improvment is more of a learned skill.

I cant rebuild a house (construction/framing) or anything but I can do all the other stuff like drywall, plumbing (learned from my Dad), electrical (self-taught), painting, and a little flooring too.
