I've done it more times than I can count. And not just NFL, but college football & basketball, NBA, boxing...even MLB lol.

I've always been a big sports fan and I believe that anything you enjoy normally -- do it tripping and it can take it to another level. So to me for example if one really enjoys a certain TV series, if they watch it tripping then it's going to be gold.

Though it's never a good idea to do any of this on the come up...to me the come up is too confusing and hectic to be able to really enjoy anything. But after you plateau then yeah, I've enjoyed kicking back and watching many sporting events under the influence of some L

It really amplifies everything -- the magnitude of the game feels magnified, the crowd noise, everything.

No it's totally you. Social skills are just that, skills, and you lack them. I can walk into any bar in the world alone and make friends. There is no advantage to being shy or withdrawn, its not a personality trait, it's a deficit. You should learn to socialize, it is healthy and a part of being normal.

while it's true that a basic set of social skills is very useful, the healthiest people are usually far from normal imo

I have walked into many bars across the world and made friends, for many years. But I'm older now and have little time for the bullshit. I know what it is when I'm walking into a room filled with drinkers talking nonsense. Just because I think it's asinine and pointless doesn't make me deficient. When you're older you might get it.

And normal... Lol. Normal people watch 4 hours of television per day, eat shit, rarely touch on any subject of value in their conversation and are generally just living to die. Fuck being "normal". No thanks.

Correct. A large part of personal growth is not allowing walls of "judgmental" perception to continue to block your path. If you still allow "feeling bad" about ideas, in your own head, to influence your perception and thus behavior - nobody can help you.

You are the judge, jury, and executioner of your reality experience. Doesn't preclude anxiety, nor the challenges of dealing with it. However, a correct assessment goes a long, long way to taking corrective measures for yourself.

I find most anxiety these days (and probably always) stems from self-esteem issues rooted typically in irrational assumptions about the nature of one's self and reality.

Laymen's terms: most people have an unconscious philosophy that's incoherent and contradictory, and they operate from multiple levels of said philosophy at once. They will never find "North", so to speak, until they sort that shit out. This is why psychs are a "forced reset" for this shit. You can approach it in a million different ways IMHO. It all leads back to the same thing: unsure of self.

Nah mate. Feeling uncomfortable hanging out with normies is a self preservation mechanism for many mature adults, due to the incoherent and contradictory philosophy of most people that you mentioned. Learning to dumb yourself down so you talk nonsense with them is folly.

What you talk about with people with general anxiety may help someone though.
