A Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life * 2

I've been reading the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra the last few days and wanted to share. It's a really beautiful short text on how to cultivate Bodhicitta (Awakening Mind). There are a few different translations and commentaries around, but this is the one I read.

I like this quote that's mentioned in the article link. An "inner smile". I love that!

Though it's the only translation/commentary I read of the Way of the Bodhisattva, I highly recommend "No Time To Lose" by Pema Chodron, it's a less scholarly commentary and more on the practical essence of this wonderful scripture, i've read many times over, she leaves out the 9th chapter on wisdom and says in the book she saving it for a work on it's own because emptiness is a difficult subject to fit in short length with the rest of the book, she has yet to release it, which I hope she does soon, life is short.

I like the 6th chapter, patience being the antidote to anger is helpful advice.

Ah now you mention it, I do remember seeing that Pema Chodron had done a commentary on it. Good to know you found it useful. I will see if I can get hold of it. Thanks for the recommendation! Love that quote by the way :smile:
