A few queries about straw logs

A purely hypothetical quandry;

I was wondering if a Food Saver "bag" would work for a straw log? Here is the process that I'm wondering if would work.

a) Cut a Food Saver bag into a 28" long section. The bag would be 6" wide.

b) Thoroughly clean the bag. Since these bags are able to be boiled or microwaved, this shouldn't be to hard. A good soaking in bleach water followed by being boiled and put in the dishwasher should do this and remove any trace disinfectant agents.

c) Now we have our clean tube. One end would be sealed using the FoodSaver machine. It would then be loaded with straw (under 2", pasteurized, drained, yadda yadda yadda). The straw and spawn would be mixed in the log and as much straw as could be crammed in, would. The tube would be wiped on the outside to make sure that no strawwater that could be a vector would be around. Then the bag would be vaccuum sealed. Their would still remain enough air inside the straw and in the bag for the mycelia to grow for a day or three.

d) Popped into an incubator for a few days. After 2-3 days, holes could be punched into the bag. A sterile 10 gauge hollow bore hypodermic needle would be used. This procedure would be undertaken in a glove box. After a large number of holes were made in the log, it would be wrapped with an autoclaved surgical towel (filtration) and placed back in the incubator.

e) Incubate until full colonization; begin to expose to light to initiate pinning, possibly even doing a cold shock. When hyphals / pins develop, birth
