Straw logs and oven bags
    #1686811 - 07/04/03 07:40 PM (14 years, 3 months ago)

My friend asked me if you could make a straw log, using oven bags to pack the straw/spawn mixture into. These bags are very thick so I doubt they would rip. The logs might not be perfectly round but that doesn't matter, you'd still get more surface area than a casing. He was just looking for an easier alternative than the plastic tubing that is pretty damn expensive that he's seen people use for straw logs. Do you think the oven bags could serve this purpose? My friend might have to experiment with this idea. Feel free to voice your opinon on this. Peace

if u use mycobags, they are pretty tough, and have a nice little filterpatch and everything...
you can even sterlize your substrate rather than pasturize.... wheee!
