heres a thing. It would seem these people cant get medicine because these companies are so worried about getting sued because people like you used to give out these meds like candy and then turn around and point at the pharmaceutical and insurance companies and sue them. Aka opioid phobia. That little susy and junky Jimmy. U really think they care to pay out chump change on opioid medication that they were doing for decades or do u think they're worried about getting sued for billions because of mass hysteria?

There are a lot of people not even paying that. Especially since diabetes is more common among the elderly there's probably more people not paying for it than there is.

Nope. Medicare does not cover insulin or any other drug. You must purchase a prescription plan from private insurance companies. America!

imagine, if you will a poorly educated spanish-only patient who arrives at a hospital with a blood glucose in the 600s. this imaginary patient has a necrotic toe infection secondary to osteomyelitis. in this imaginary scenario, I would have to explain to this gentleman that if he does not use insulin, he will lose his foot. Imagine him replying that he stopped using it 6 months ago because he can't afford to buy it anymore. Imagine this gentleman trying to look strong in front of his family, promising that he will find a way to use it again. Imagine the fear he must be experiencing. Of course, this is a totally fictional scenario that I have definitely never been personally involved in.

let's imagine the patient refusing surgery and opting for a heavy course of antibiotics and swearing he'll control his blood sugar. let's imagine nobody would be surprised when he shows up in 3 weeks and has to have surgery but taking the whole foot rather than just the toe.
