Anyone ever rent furniture from a rent to own place?

What sort of tricks do they try get you with?


I like that they have free delivery and I only need the furniture for like 6 months. Plus I can run it through a company credit card, so I don't really care if it's cheaper to buy a bed frame than rent it at $8 a week.

Exorbitant interest rates. Don't do it if you can help it. Look for a dent and scratch section in a store, look on craigslist, look for sales, look in big lots, if there is scratches on a display make an offer for it.

I can put it through my company credit card to furnish a short term apartment. I don't want another set of furniture. I just need something for a few months and my company is going to pay.

Also I have money, but not time. I need to furnish an apartment in like 2 days. I don't want to drive around and fuck around. I just want someone to come set it up.

Rent a centers faq says you can return it any time, even come back later and pick up where you left off on a comparable item.

I'd say go with a Nationwide chain, less likely to give you shit over returns than smaller places.

It's not really a big deal if they want to drag their feet... Just make sure they're not still getting paid, im sure they'll move pretty quick to recover their items.

On one side, it's convenient and easy to get shit quick with low payments. And on the other side, you're paying double or triple what the item actually costs.

You can run it through company credit? My man if you dont own said company I'd go nuts. Might be able to just do the full amount on those items.

I get my housing paid for. Usually we rent out hotels at ~$800 / week, but there ain't no motels in the next town i gotta go to. So instead I'm gunna get an apartment and rental furniture. It's actually gunna save the company thousands of dollars a month. This is why the cost doesn't matter, but it needs to be a weekly fee I can roll in with the rent.


I don't want to own, because then i have a bunch of furniture and I have to either sell it, haul it away, or whatever. It's a fairly far area. It would cost more to haul it back home than it's worth.

I had a friend that used to rent furniture and then 3 weeks later he would be in jail or hiding and loose everything. He did this over and over and they would still let him rent again. Same thing with running up credit cards. He has to have a credit score of around 0
