Rent to own Companys

You know the ones that sell you a tv or furniture for 50 to 100 bucks a month for so many months costing you at least double the value of the thing you buy. Well my brother has this 60 inch lg plasma he been giving 100 a month now totaling about 1800 dollars. Today he had the place come and get it because he couldnt afford it anymore.

I was thinking about going into this place tomorrow and being like hey this tv is used and we both know my brother paid the value of it, And see if i can buy it outright for a few hundred.

Can this work?

Can't see them selling it to your for anything less then market value, regardless of how much your brother has paid on renting it.....why would they?

i mean the tv is used, there is dust in the back, and a small burn in image that they probably don't know about.

I only assume they would try to resell it, my question was will it be at a price i can buy.

No.

Why would they sell it to you for a discounted or "used" price, when they can just rent it out to the next guy for another $1800, and another, and another.

If you want to buy used, then buy used.  Most consumers that routinely purchase electronics equipment are constantly upgrading, buying, trading, and selling equipment.  You could probably get a used 60 for $400 if oyu know where to look.
