Watching mycelium drink--- bottom watering discussion?

Substrate dry, read if tons of pins you need to assure ample water to support total growth of all said pins. Tons of pins, substrate depth 1 - 1 1/2in. Pulling away before first flush. Blue bruising. Inject water along sides. Mark water level with marker on tub. Stare at water close for 15min. See mycelium take gulps. Watch water level pulsate. Keep watching mycelium gulp (very subtle must stare at water line). Come back to an amazing amount of water drank and no more blue bruising.

Substrate must of been way too dry to begin with. In my experience the bottom is the one spot that you can count on to have ample moisture, and it can't even absorb half the run off from a few mistingings a day.
