I found a spider I'd never seen before the other day. Tried a little bit to identify and couldn't find anything so far. Not the best pic though, it's a lot more turquoise than it looks here

Looks like some type of orb weaver. Check out the iNaturalist app. It’s really great for ID’s.

I love spiders. I have wolf, jumping and orb weavers around my house and they are left alone. That being said, black widow and brown recluse die on site. Have you ever seen a black widow hatch eggs in a jar? I have, it's a jar of death. Hell naw.

Here we have a related species locally called the Katipo spider, beautiful creatures though vey rare.
Unfortunately I don't have any picture of my own to share.

Got whitetails coming out of my ears though...
