Anyone else using wheat? * 1
    #26014282 -

Just wondering who uses wheat and what your jars look like? Pics? Thoughts?

I have been using wheat for sometime now (maybe a yr) and I really like it. SUPER easy prep. I find its very close to rye berries but wayy cheaper. I just don't like the way mycelium grows on wheat. I'm wondering if its just me. I have used many different cultures in many ways and my growth is always thin and grey looking on wheat  If I do a tiger drop the growth looks beautiful, rhyzo, thick, and white but then after the first shake it seems to grow thin  It doesn't seem to effect my grows at all. I'm just thinking about switching back to oats because the mycelium growth is so much prettier on oats

Yeah, I've used agar to hard red winter wheat berries, shown above. Works great! Second two pics are being steamed shortly after being boiled.

Right I think they work good too and mine look just like that until I shake them... Once they are finished colonizing i normally don't even need to smack the jars to break em up, just shake it a bit bc the mycelium isn't very thick  do u have any pictures of fully colonized jars after shaking a time or two?

Sorry, no pics of a fully colonized jar.

I'll shake once at around 30% and again right before spawning, to bust up the grain.
