I live In an world where talking about these things and the experiences they bring are nigh on impossible...in some cases dangerous.

This place is a not only a resource for the interested but also an outlet for the initiated.

I just don't know where I would've turned to find such souls.

Unlike seemingly quite a few I launched into this exploration of mind and self alone without others to bounce off.

Im not afraid to admit that upon reflection there was most certainly a time where i needed the shroomery or at the very least it helped...alot.

We are not alone in our counter productive (unproductive) activities....Priceless.

You cannot kill a spirit.

I know that feeling man. Been that way with quite a few aspects of my life (becoming a biker/psychonaut/philosopher/meditator/student of the human condition/etc). It can get awful lonely sometimes.

Perhaps that is the same reason I gravitated so strongly to this community. For the first time in my life (I spent my first couple of years in PS&P exclusively) I found people who I could really, really relate to.

I always searched for community in my life. Little did I know I would end up finding it on a shroom based online community...

This place is actually therapeutic as well for a lot of people from my perspective. Whether the posters that post very serious things going on or not, it's very valuable information and might help someone who never interacts and just gleans information. It's a unique forum.

Good question. It was way back in the day when i was heavily into Erowid. First looked at the PF document on Erowid for an overview of how its done. After finding out about shrooms and that u can grow them at home, i was in. I cant remember if i found the Shroomery on this Erowid page under "Primary Sources": https://www.erowid.org/plants/mushrooms/mushrooms.shtml

Of if i found The Shroomery with a website search engine, but once i found the Mushroom Cultivation forum, i was in. I had to learn more and more on how to grow these cubenis and after awhile of just reading posts, i wanted to join in on the conversation so i made an account with a description of the Universe itself and the feeling of tripping on potent Dealer Cubes, which was "LogicaL Chaos". Started posting in Mush Cult, asking questions and such and the rest is history......

It would be understandable if that was all. People can be very rude to new members. I remember reading a thread long ago where a member said they were Christian, and everyone mocked them out of the forum. Mods were there. It's one of the reasons I have so little respect for the mods here. you call someone stupid and you get bans and warnings. It was one of the most disgusting things I've seen here. I'd bring it up if I could find it

Social groups rarely cater to new people.  Most social settings require new people to try to fit in, not the group fitting in with the new people.

The shroomery is a challenging place.  We have people from all walks of life here.  Somewhere on this site there is someone with complete and polar opposite views as you.  Your views will get challenged if you decide to post about them.  If someone is not comfortable with their views being challenged, such as their religion in your example, then they probably shouldn't post about it.

Internet requires at least some social skill ability and a thick skin.  Those without tend to put themselves in positions of being disliked.

Shaming and bullying are completely unnecessary and cruel practices. I can tolerate assholes opinions and name calling. I will not be a part of a group that stands for bullying no matter circumstance. I you want to be a shitty person cool. Be a piece of shit. But how many of you would have come here because you thought people at least as a majority would accept you for who you are and would have stayed if everyone started ganging up on you because of your choice in religion. I like our moderators by the way. Mindfreeze you seem like a good dude. I also know you're an advocate and show your support in the opiate addiction thread. What if a bunch of us went in there and started calling everyone piece of shit junkies, hope you die overdosing (I'm an addict btw)...would that be tolerated?

On the other hand I can see the dillema you guys as mods face. Where the shit is the line drawn? You guys do your best to keep all parties involved happy while upholding forum rules. You do your job and ppl shit post you. You let things slide and people notice that too and hold it against you. The Shroomery is hard times yo.

I'm not good at arguing or making points. I didn't come here to argue honestly. I came here to participate in helping others in whatever way I can and of course I enjoy a shit post every now and again but I dont do it to intentionally hurt others or at the expense of that person's wellbeing. There is though a difference in people being sensitive and not being able to take criticism and being ignorant-to being shamed for their beliefs or something they can't help.Dammit I probably look like an idiot. I'm going to bed.

n00bs are the life blood of any online community. With any game, once the n00bs vanish, the days of the server are numbered.

n00bs must adjust to their elders, absolutely, but likewise us elders would do good to remain open to the new generation and the new way of doing things.

Ultimately we'll meet in the middle then.

As we are a forum full of elders, let's keep it fresh as to not let our forums waft with vapid old dude scent as we go on about how good the coke was in the friggin 1970s :lol:

I hit OTD right off the bat when I joined... they were less than nice at first :smilingpuppy:

I stuck around and pwned them and now they all look up to me and love me.  Just the other day mndfreeze sent me a :pm: asking how he could be more like me and be so above average like I am.. I think “godlike enigma” was the words he used.. :bashful:

You gotta do you boo..  but you also have to be open to criticizm.  I think a big thing is newbs come into mush cult and try to reinvent the wheel and when they get shut down (justifiably) they get teh btthrt.  Shit like that, pick your battles man.  It’s an adult site, we should be grown ups about this.
