How do you guys dispose of your contams?

I usually scoop into a bag which i tie and throw in the trash, and immediately submerge the jar in hot soapy water.

My time is worth more than it takes to clean that nasty shit out, it's the smart thing to do.

Here I am growing hundreds of dollars worth of these mushrooms per week at a cost of tens of dollars and I'm trying to salvage 70 cents worth of glass that's worse than cleaning puke and shit up. Nope, in the trash can it goes. No way I'm that fucking cheap.

i used to do this and recently started dumping everything in my compost pile. contaminations, spent subs, left over grains or coir or just anything mycology related. i had about a half ounce pop up from the compost from things that otherwise would have been thrown away.

today i turned it and added more stuff and it was completely alive with a mycelium network, various bugs and so many earth worms i had considered harvesting them and going fishing today!

I dont even wear gloves,i find they affect my dexterity which is essential for clean technique so why bother. just sanitize my work station as much as i can and have confident movements when opening and closing agar plates or grain jars while in the SAB.
