Personally, I just don't browse as many forums as I use to, but
I do check my threads, the Pub and Political Discussion almost every morning, even before
I check my Email, local weather, various news sites and Trumps hilarious twitter babble.
I also check back in to the Shroomery a few times during the day,
especially if there's a good thread going.

I just don't post as much. I often have something to respond to, but after having second thoughts,
I either don't respond or delete what I did type. I often think I might come off rather
cynical and negative and not very shroomy. Some of youse guys
are practically young enough to be a grandchild of mine.  :stork: 

I have been trying to give out more +1's so y'all know I'm still kickin'.

I haven't even responded to the new posts in my own User Forum, Senior Moments... :ashamed: 
but I'm going to make it a point to respond to everyone who's posted there
and try to stir up some activity. Us old folks got to stick together.

But guess what? Second Life jumped the shark in 2007 and now 12 years later its still going strong and they even launched Sansar a new virtual world.

The Shroomery basically exists for as long as the admins choose to, because there will always be die-hard shroomerites to populate and staff it, and staffing it also may include fresh blood in the admin department, like I was on that fateful April 1st :heart:

If Ythan grows tired of expanding on the code, we might even have some emerging Chinese software company code a complete new site for us from scratch, full of the old bits and bobs but in a fresh 2020 format. Maybe even with a VR permagathering going on, who knows? Thats just a crazy Asante idea but, we're robust and have a world of possibilities.

The Shroomery might outlast us all, as there's no reason why shrooms will fall out of favor and we have more practical shroom info than the Library of Congress. We're the world's premier shroom information source and value is added to that with every ontopic post of substance.

Don't be like those SecondLifers who been mooing that "SL is dead" like constipated cows for over a decade now :lol:

Yes, we have a downturn, but we are not out, not by a mile.


Our glory days in my view were when we were small anyway, before we became the mainstream of mushroom sites :smile:

Chinese..... Are you trying to get our users information stolen?!?!?!  Even Russians would be safer...

The site does need a face lift though, badly.  The forums may never fully die because of us die hards, but eventually someone else will come along and eclipse this place with newer tech, more features, options, services, etc..

You only need to look at the nonsense posted in the shroomery facebook group to see just how badly the forums need to exist, and compete. lol.

I really like this community, it'd be a shame if they tried to turn it into a high tek junket with multiple like buttons and rounded corners on all the frames. I'd probably go elsewhere rather than be assimilated by the Borg.
