Why are people in in industrized Euorpe so live and let live or in the states we call it liberal.

Everything is so much fear and worry here.  That cracks me up in the video the guy wearing the t-shirt saying wasted and past out on the ground.  They let him be there, here you go to jail and a drunk tank.

And the dancing around the pool and everyone just having fun.  It is not just about sitting around with sunglasses and getting tan and boring as fuck.  There is music and people just seem to get along and have fun.  Plus the pubs have excellent nightlife and beer if that is one's thing.

I hate Utah.  I really despise it.

They passed legization In Denver for Shrooms down the road.  Hope they do have a gathering in time.  Amazes me over a decade ago signing a petition at the downtown library for medical marijuana.  Am glad for this.

This post is all over the place.  Just ready for some warm weather and fun.  Will be in Denver in June.



For anyone that watches the video/s.  reminds me of water skiing.  I could jump from wake to wake, got really good at it.  I live in fucking Utah and I hate skiing and about tore and ACL last time I did it.  Water skiing is a peace of cake to skiing and taking risks.
God, just happy warm weather is here.

The explanation I've heard most often is having two world wars fought on their soil.

My contribution to the argument would be :1.They have a much bigger tradition of socialist history than the U.S.  2. Their cold war experience with the Soviet Union.

England and Germany nearly had communist revolutions after WW1,  and most of Europe has had many experiments with socialist governments in the framework of democracy. Socialism is not a dirty word in Europe.


I think the cold war also pushed Europe to the left. They certainly didn't want to be like the USSR but they had to coexist with them. The Soviets had a military advantage with tanks that would have allowed them to take over much of Europe, and nothing could have stopped it except nuclear destruction. We are all fortunate that the game of chicken between the two superpowers never played out. I think Europe chose to position themselves as a middle ground between the economic systems of America and USSR to suit their own needs and also to avoid provoking the Soviets. Europe does not have the frontier area that the U.S. does which places limits on their population's expectations of capitalist opportunity. European countries have frequently had high unemployment so it became a choice between providing social welfare or starving. Europe's views on that have been decidedly to the left of the U.S.


While fascism was a reaction to the threat of communist revolution, I think European socialism is also a way of staving off communism. Extreme left-wing revolutions only occur when much of the population is desperate. Providing for the needs of the people keeps things from either the capitalist or communist extremes.
