I make 20$ an hour as a sou-chef. Plus tips, works out to about 23-24 an hour.
Some weeks tips are better then others tho, winter time tips are weak.

Sounds like you got lucky? Doesn't work out that way for most people. Not everyone is dealt the same cards, genetically and circumstance wise.

I do landscaping. Hard work but I get to be outside, it keeps me in shape, and I work for a good friend. Don't have to people much. $16 an hour which is the best legal money I've ever made and I inherited a house so things are working out pretty good.

Sounds great.  Nature provides for me and no inheritance for me and is worth it to be myself.  Maybe you had great parents, whatever. 

I hate landscaping.  Is amazing you make that much doing it.  Where I live there is one white guy that just checks in time to time and the rest are illegals.

Yes, they are all Hispanic and I will go check their legal status as it makes a shitload of difference to me or not.  Common sense.  Construction sites as well, will be sure to check on them.  They are all on visas or citizens.  Guess what?  I don't give a fuck.  :shrug:

Nothing is worse though then being a flagger.  One was so bored he had a beer can hidden next to him.  Made me laugh.

Luck played a small part, I think my willingness to wake up at 3am and do an extremely hot/dusty/noisey job for 12 hours getting paid fuck all got me here. I remember when I started all my colleagues laughed at me and called me an idiot, but I just put my head down and worked harder now I'm their boss.

I am lucky I'm in my early 20s and physically fit though
