yes, exactly.

my best friend in PA was working as a plumber for almost 10 years (not making a whole lot of money) but then he joined a welders union apprenticeship (4 year program) and he makes now around $30-$40/hr at different job sites. he even asked to work in the office doing CAD drawings for projects but he said he liked being in the feild better than the office so he went back to that.

Trades aren't for everyone. I'm good with my hands but I'd rather use my mind while at work and save physical stuff for hobbies. It would suck to be doing labor all day and then try to train.

I know life isn't fair and never will be, but it's a bit unreasonable to act like every path to success that was viable 40 years ago still is today.

I think part of the problem is that there's twice as many humans on the planet as there was in your generation.

Yeah.  I remember my brothers friend from the East where he worked during a time under labor unions and talking about just throwing whatever he wanted to in his cart grocery shopping.  With a wife and the American dream, because it is a dream, fake, and then moved to a RIGHT TO WORK STATE, lol. 

But over the time the East has gone to shit a lot more than the West.  Everything now is cheap labor and apartments where you sit down and hear conversations from your neighbor because it is so cheap to build walls that way.  Bricks, naw.  Fuck it. 

It is Summer and my time.  Nature really doesn't care.

Maybe not, but there are different paths, and until you actually start crawling, walking, or running down one you won't find out, will you? ANY FUCKING thing you do will be progress toward something. Maybe it's too fucking bad you have to use your physical attributes to make money, it's a start! I was unloading greenery trucks when I was 12-13, and then I was a milk runner for a milk truck, running the milk to the doorstep for the milk man, lol, thinking about that its pretty fucking archaic actually.

yes there were less humans, but also way less safety regulations and equal oppurtunities as there are today. so sorry i cant agree with that sentence that says "its not guna be anywhere near as easy as it once was"

i feel its much easier today then ever. people can make money by simply posting videos online.

Work in higher management. Got a huge increase in salary this year, almost €1000 a month extra after taxes. For some reason its just as gone by the end of the month as previous years.

Two kids and my partner doesnt work at all. We live in a smallish appartment that is almost mortgage free. I have a shit car and a cheapass motorcycle. But we go abroad for holidays 6 to 7 weeks a year and I am actually shopping for a Rolex. When I turn 40 in a couple years imma buy myself a nice watch :snub:

My ideal job would be acquiring a Airline Transport Pilot License then flying to tropical destinations in Boeing 787-9 :wink:

Welcome to the reality of the common worker. Don't let that get to you. Unless you were born into wealth or more opportunities, you have to make it yourself, and it's a bitch at times, but the rewards can be VERY good. Even just existing and making your own way will bring you some sense of self worth and money no matter how little or how much, hopefully. :shrug: Some managers and people in control love being in control, get over it and move along. Do not let those people dictate the way you feel or act, fuck those fucking fucks!

I've been at my job for 1.5 years, within 1 year I had increased my wage by $10 and landed an entry level management position. Shit works out if you work hard, I had no prior experience or education in the industry I'm in, just rocked up and worked hard at a manual labour position for just above minimum wage, now I'm the boss of people who have master's degrees and PhD's
