It’s crazy to me to see that these “yang gang” people have co-opted a famous bit of 80s/outrun iconography into the logo.  I mean, it looks cool and all, but what does it even mean in the context?

Hey yeah, your meme posts on this subject got me interested in checking out what Yang is about.  He doesn’t actually seem too bad, I like some of his ideas, but I was having a hard time understanding why the incel/4chan/neckbeard communities have latched onto this guy so hard.  I found this article that gets into it a bit.  It explains that these groups are into Yang as a kind of edgy post-Trump irony that runs adjacent to alt-right motives.  Yang himself has disavowed these groups, saying he wants no support from and nothing to do with white nationalists and other varieties of shitlords.  He sounds a lot better to me than Trump, so I guess if you guys are gonna elect another meme as president, it may as well be Yang. 

If you have any thoughts on this besides “$1000”, I’d be interested to hear it.

I like Yang and I like his plan for UBI, it's pretty sharp. There is of course some area for critique on his plan for VAT.
