When to break the bag

Just curious and looking for different inputs on when you should mix up a spawn bag to increase colonization times, I’ve been seeing at 25%, 50%, 70%. With your experiences what normally works out best?

I shake once I can see mycelium growing onto new grains. Usually the mycelium strands are like a 1/2 inch long when I do it.
