I'm sorry if I was unclear. The seeds were first cooked in the pressure cooker for about 20 minutes at 5psi. then after adding some other stuff ( ground linseed, and thistle) the bag was filled and then the whole thing was sterilized ( or so I thought) in the pressure cooker for an hour at 15psi. The mycilium water looks and smells good and has had peroxide added about a week ago, so that should have taken care of the mycilium water. Do you know if 1 hour is long enough for those bags? Do they recquire longer? I appreciate any help. Rxwoman.

Why did you add these other ingredients? 1 hour should be sufficient. It doesn't sound like you added enough substrate to the bag to warrant extended sterilization. It was just one bag right? Does it appear to wet? Sometimes getting the moisture content right is difficult with larger quantities of substrate. Also, i wouldn't recommend leaving your mycelium water sitting around that long. Have you tried inoculating any other substrate with the mycelium water. Liquid culture needs agitation to keep around that long. Agitation= aeration You could have latent contaminants in the liquid.

Hi Teonan,
thanks for your help. I've had trouble with my ISP for the last few days, so I haven't replied.
No, there was not too much moisture, Hercules the llama added all those other ingredients because he had read in some recipes that they are beneficial. The mycilium solution is very old, but he added more peroxide , and it does not smell, or look contaminated. He did innoculate some other things with that same solution, and they were fine. He has some mycilium solution put away that is months old, and all it did was grow a bright white, fuzzy layer of mycilium floating on the surface of the liquid. If one can keep a culture on agar for months, why not in honey water? Especially if it is H2o2 added? He likes keeping them as they just grow more mycilium in the liquid, as one uses them, as long as you leave some strands back.
The good new is that he had one bag left and this time he filled it with cooked rice. Then he PC'd that sucker for 2 hours. It was again innoculated with the myc. solution. This morning he reports that there is already some growth visible, and no bad smell this time. I'll keep you appraised of his progress. Thanks again, Rxwoman.
