Hunting spot?

Last week I uploaded photos of a very dry pine forest and you guys said no good, found a better forest this week, what's your thoughts? Will I be wasting my time here when the season starts? TIA

By 'subs' I assume you mean Psilocybe subaeruginosa? It looks ideal to me, but maybe you would get better advise from someone who is actually from Australia.

Yes I mean psilocybe subaeruginosa. There is not much else other than pine trees here, but I'm sure that I could find some bushier areas as the hills are never ending here.Just don't want to spend weeks hunting with no success.

I have very limited knowledge hunting but I am from Australia, If it was me; the only turn off with your first picture is how small the trees are. Meaning the area hasn't been around for long, I would want more mature trees which will be surrounded by hopefully more abundant fungi.

Mind showing us a picture from last week that people didn't think you would find subs in? Just curious

They are 20 years old according to some signage near them. The pic doesn't do it justice, when you are inside of the forest you almost can't see out, land or sky. Here are the pics from last week, I understand why people said it's not a good spot at all.

They don't have a choice. I'm on a mission! I've done so much research that I'm dreaming of them every night. It's strange actually, they talk to me in my dreams lol

Anyway, i'm very much in the same boat.. i'm mushroom obsessed.
Seems like those pictures must be the plantation grid they just planted.
All the knowledge you need is actually on this site, might just have to do a little bit of digging.

This is the most useful source of information i've found on hunting

No mountains here man, it's in Adelaide hills. And believe it or not I have read that link from bobwastaken like ten times now lol just struggling to find bracken fern and steep gullies, pine trees are no problem but the damn land so flat. Im sure I'll find something. I've only been scouting places for about 4 weekends now so I'm getting somewhere imo

Whatever you do,  don't make hunting like a job, slow down and enjoy spending time outdoors and take your time, you will pass more than you will find if you rush.

When you do find the first one, take the time to really look around you at the habitat, not just what's at your feet. Don't forget about the woodchips in parks and businesses, especially if they have irrigation.

Thanks for the advice doc, I have a list of parks I will be visiting this winter. I am loving the outdoors and have found some very nice spots just for hiking aswell. I'm not in much of a rush as there aren't really any actives around yet, was a very hot and dry summer. All advice helps though as it's my first season this time around so thanks all!
