Why can't you just do your research?!

I feel like mushroom growing is a serious passion for me. I get excited thinking about my little mushies, even when they're just pins, I even took a McKenna sized trip just to respect them, even when I've got a bunch I barely eat them.

I had a pretty sweet setup going in my room, but since I rent, I knew it wasn't built to last, and one day when I tossed a patri in the wrong bin, my anxiety followed me to work and I took down my grow that same night.

I got ballsy for a while and posted my petris and cultures to my IG, which had a friend ask me to link up with his team. The timing, with the bug out happening, had me setting all of my supplies down at their house, telling them I'd grow alongside them and keep their grow in line. They were all noobs, and I've got a fringe level of experience from growing before, alongside reading several novels worth of teks off this site.

Their house has three real big dogs who come in and out, which was a worry about air, and they had a pair of gloves attached to their glovebox. Greenhorns.

They show me some wide mouthed PF jars they inoculated with a 90 dollar syringe. 90? WTF? They hadn't done much research and they'd paid for it. I wish I had seen that groove coming. The jars were taped shut, absolutely NO FAE. No mold either, so good job, I guess?

I set up a few jumbo presto PCs of wbs and they knock it up for me. The jars colonize, but they tried spawning the jars straight, without adding any substrate. When I told them they needed to spawn with a substrate, they said 'we already did it' and left it like that until I showed up the next week, to re boil some coir.

We didn't have a five gallon bucket to do a 5050 tek, so I tell em to use my electric pressure cooker: Coir, verm, boiling water. I get a call from them asking how to use the cooker; I think they're doing birdseed so I tell them.

They put TWO bricks in the cooker because they 'fit'. They couldn't get the lid back on, exposing it to open-dog-air. They covered it with a sheet of saran wrap so it should be fine... right? >:(

When those trays molded they blamed the air. Dogs sleep in the same room so that one's in the air. When I asked em why they didn't follow the TEK, they nosed away from the subject.

They exclusively bought the wrong seed and complained to me that the water turned green.

What happened this last visit is enough for me to just turn my cards in.
I roll out and post up with them, and the entire day I don't pay notice to the dehydrator, and how it's nearly singing my arm hairs every time I get near it. They cooked our fucking mushrooms. That failed 5050 tek had something to do with all our trays molding over, and this is the point where I snapped.

They use a pill press, and pressed all the fried, dried mushies into pill capsules. One of the guys was saying he took a .33 micro and felt like he was on coke. That's not coke buddy, that's microdose anxiety.

Me and mine take ours and don't feel shit. Here's where I put two and two together with the dehydrator - I'm up all night, sweating, maybe a ten second pattern of leopard print on my wall, nothing else but restlessness. Off 'five g's.

I asked them why they didn't look up how to dry mushrooms, citing how I have begged them nonstop to do their research before making ANY move. They started saying how it was a potency issue, and how high temperatures overnight won't hurt mycelium. I came here to teach these cats and take a cut and they think they know better. I fucking lurk, dog.

My inner pro-wrestler came out and I belted out 'I will forget more about mushrooms today, then you will learn in your life'.
They called me a skitzo, and asked if they could give all my supplies back and tell me to fuck off.

I need to take another break off of growing. I threw down so much for this for a group of cats who can't be assed to lerarn shit.

I took the skitzo comment really personal; I have some mental issues I don't want some fucking doctor prescribing but I want to be sort of honest about it. I don't do psych drugs.

RR had a quote, something to the tune of 'You might grow mushrooms, and that's fine, we get thousands of you every year, you don't matter.' That's how I'm feeling. I never tried to be rude about the whole thing, it just floored me that they never looked shit up before making moves and lashed at me for their mistakes. I still need to go out there to get my things back, that's gonna be so fucking awkward.

I have a 'bio bin' for my work trash, but I had a petri end up in my pocket and I tossed it in a bin outside my house thinking nothing of it. I'm at my workstation and it just started unfurling from there. I knew that night I had work to do,

Anyways, how long was this dehydrator running? Like over 48 hours? I usually go at least 24 with no issues. If this is the case, then sounds like yall just grew bunk ass shrooms lol

I kinda understand since my first post on here was after I already learned how to grow from reading and lurking on here. This was before bod and frank had their links list too. Literally had to use search function constantly. People should be able to grow ez with proper research. If there's any people in the future reading this wondering how to use the search function, click the link in my signature called how to shroomery like a pro.

I've never run a dehydrator in my career, I used to eat my batch as it came out.

Me being pissed off about this is retroactive! Every big dose I ever took from them came out of that dehydrator, it's a model that they claim 'just has an ON button'.

I did eat 10Gs that one time, but the potency must have been off. I grilled them for letting their mushies grow big as fuck, telling them they harvest as soon as the veils tear.

The discourses we have let me down, if they don't make for some eminent classics,

"Okay, take a section of the whitest agar and drop it into a pint jar."

"I wanted the quart jar to colonize, so I used the whole petri dish!"

I like your teks, mushboy! I've learned a ton from your posts in particular.

When I started growing I had a couple turkey trays growing, like six years ago.

I had five shoeboxes that weren't pinning real well when I started growing again, I only had use of a gowise pressure cooker - I only use that for agar and LCs, now, it only goes up to 11PSI, but keeps dipping down.

I've never hit bulk tiers high enough to save and dry my product, just a comfy little closet garden I could use for weekends to myself!

An electric PC works great if you absolutely have to do WBS, but I wouldn't recommend it for bulk production! Too much issues with contams, you need that full 15, if you're not game to chance two hours.

Mckenna used to fuck (with) his groupies heavy and take huge doses and have orgies. The man's gone and his head was such a mess; are we ever really gonna know?

So far all my growing efforts and research and trouble shooting has come from watching RR's video's (I purchased the downloadable version) and primarily searching this site, and other sites.  I have yet to ask anything but mainly don't because so far I have found all my answers or I simply let the shit ride out at home and learn by failure.  (I don't mind) As I see failure as winning if you walk away with lessons learned and more knowledge gained.  The hardest part for me has been identifying what I feel as subtle contamination, the shit that doesn't always look obvious green or black.  Hell, I might have even dumped a good tub or two out of caution.  I have dumped a few tubs out of my grow area in my cold ass garage only to see monster fruits come out of them and I have sprayed tubs with 10% bleach by mistake because I use the same bottles for water, alcohol and bleach (they had writing on it... :ooo:) now they are each labeled with a color scheme of red, green and blue duct tape.

But before tossing the tubs I decided to say fuck it and lets see what happens... they grew anyway :grin:  Then later on I read a bunch of shit by other cultivators about using 100:1 bleach ratio for other reasons... so I figured a few pups of my mister wasn't going to hurt.  I enjoy the experimental part more then anything, if I simply wanted to grow because I felt like going on a trip I would just do PF Tek to the T.

So how would you dispose of the bio bin contents? I've researched this but I'm interested to hear from somebody who shut down their whole op over one petri dish in the wrong bin.
