we're all going to be living underground anyway

I kinda like the idea

Although I did have a salvia trip once where we are all teletubies living in an underground cave complex that was falling apart. There was fire everywhere. Rocks were crumbling down from the massive rotunda. And I just remember this fat bearded dude in a morph suit, panicked, beckoning me to the exit which was likely blocked. It was like the apocalypse at the end of the apocalypse.

Sometimes I wonder if tripping does allow you to time travel :strokebeard:

I imagine that tropical/equatorial and hot/cold desert regions are going to expand in size and extremity and that temperate regions will gradually disappear. Biodiversity will likely continue to flourish and grow in equatorial and tropical regions.

I have a severe distrust in the scientific community especially in regards to this highly politicized issue which is clearly economically motivated if you look into it in terms of who is pushing global warming / climate change and the organizations they are connected to and the methods of combating climate change they have proposed. Regardless of whether or not climate change / global warming is real and is a serious threat it is clear that the majority of those who are leading the movement are corrupt and are using the issue as a way to make money.

By the way the US is the largest donor to siberian conservation efforts so think about that while ur paid to troll. I get it though, forming thoughts can be difficult.

I'm sorry if you are retarded though. I didn't really read any of your posts.

humans have been here about 6 million years.

will we make it another 6 million?  likely not.  we need to think about this every single day.  every action we take we need to ask ourselves "can we afford to keep doing this?"  We must look at the bigger picture.  deforestation, polluting the air and water, species after species falling to into extinction.  not to mention there is no where on earth to put nuclear waste or plastic.

we have only one earth.  just one.  thats why it makes me soooo fucking angry when people litter.  we need to treat it like it is our home for the next six million years because its the only one we have. this is IT.  even if we are able to leave someday it wont be very far or nearly as nice.

BTW CO2 is a good thing.  plants breath CO2.  the fact is  that more carbon dioxide is produced by decaying vegetation and plant matter than all human population per year.  Carbon dioxide increases many years after temperature, not carbon increasing earths temperature.  That is false.
climate change is being done by man, no doubt.  but it is under a guise of global warming which keeps developing nations from competing and continuing to borrow money from the IMF.  The climate program is HAARP.  Look, when you control the weather you control food, you also control water.  put any country into drought and they will give up their resources and sovereignty within a year and a half.  In famine people eat their own children.  buy good seeds that arent GMO. or try.  if you can there could come a time where they wont grow due to ph of the soil changing.  we got aluminum, strongium(?), and barium poisoning our air. what is in the air contaminates the ground, what contaminates the ground will contaminate the plants and animals we eat.  plus too the bees.  that is end game.

AI will kill us well before then, we will be lucky if we get to see the upcoming technological Singularity, which will happen no later than 2030.

At any moment, the whole cycle could be delayed for a long period of time, or even to a degree reversed by known, theorized, or unknown Earth/Stellar processes...

Exceptional solar minimums - the milankovich orbital cycles - massive volcanic eruptions - or sustained sulfur rich eruptions, melting of ice/induction of fresh water into certain circulation cycles in the ocean has been theorized to slow them - and then initiate cooling, a bunch of humans dying in a short span (around the 1500s) led to marked cooling (i.e. almost the entire populations of south and north America), hell even a comet/certain impacts can have a major effect.

Not to say that we should count on any of this, but the Earth does have many cooling mechanisms - many of which haven't been necessarily triggered recently.

So fingers crossed we get a savage huge volcanic eruption somewhere far away from me that initiates a 10-year cooling cycle... things will continue to go extinct of course, but any time is beneficial.

A huge degree of extinction has also occurred much more accidentally through the presence of humans - as we have more or less spread every medium sized species and smaller across most of the globe - so especially in regions where the original species were not especially well equipped to deal with competition - they were often wiped out... be it by similar sized animals, diseases - or plants which outcompeted their native species... to a degree the damage from this sort of intermixing may begin to relieve itself, as certain habitats regain homeostasis with a new mixture of adapted plants and animals.

Or it'll be aptly intelligent, and well programmed to the degree that it'll find the task of curtailing the damage to the planet, and reigning in negative human behavior to be a rather simple task - and killing them all to be completely idiotic and only something dramatic humans imagine

Not to mention as AI arises - so too does cybernetics and the integration of powerful computers into our own biologies - humans themselves will hardly be a step behind.

AI is software that is able to write itself.  that programming isnt done by humans.

the first country to achieve strong AI wins forever.  or atleast until God decides its time to wipe us out and start new again.  cause there is nothing under the sun that has not been done before.

humans.. we think we're so fucking smart.  lol we don't even know how we got here, who or what created us, or where we come from.  :dawerp:  reminds me of homer when he goes "I am so smart S-M-R-T!"

Yes - but that doesn't mean it isn't be programmed to program itself in a specific manner... i.e. firmware/hardcoded instructions that cannot be rewritten ... A human and an animal can both learn, but only with regards to their original genetic coding - that is what the programmers write. It doesn't just instantly take off and become impossibly intelligent right off the bat

Funnily - I think it's the people who have no understanding of computer science that think they're in an intellectual position to posit the future of its most advanced technologies - when they can't even begin to grasp the level insanity of the technology at their fingertips - nor any of even the most basic fundamentals behind it  (and I don't necessarily think that's you - just saying)

Media has made everyone scared as fuck of AI though  - and I'm sure plenty can 'go wrong' but there's way too many moderately to highly competent forces at work - imo - for any absurd Hollywood-esque AI takeover to happen just out of the blue. By the time any became that powerful, there would be dozens to hundreds of other AI types that would be programmed in a nature to provide security/protection/code analysis etc etc. along with humans with cybernetic tech that gives them comparable abilities with near conscious programs providing security against even the most fervent of cybernetic attacks.

Probably the most fearsome situation comes from military tech - but even military tech for the foreseeable future requires significant human maintenance/interaction - even if an advanced drone, or even many went rogue, what's it going to do - drop 5 bombs - shoot a few missiles and fly around until it runs out of batteries/fuel - and then what?  It doesn't take much to interrupt even the most advanced and automated of systems, when they're left to their own devices and not supported by humans - and that'll likely be true for decades to come.

Hey twighead, 'member the movie Her(2013)?

The first truly AI Operating Systems are released to the public.
They start to learn and evolve by rewriting themselves.

By the end of the movie(spoiler) the AIs get so tired of the humans drama that they build a spaceship or somth and leave the planet =))

Theres a company that recycles cardon in the air back into fuel.

By stocks for when the oil runs out.

Technology is so shitty an entertainment orientated skynet type apocalypse scenarios are a 1000 years into the future if we dont nuke ourselves or a super bug gets spread on a global scale.

Climate change may be a slow killer but it is a definite one that cant be easily or quickly corrected and will have lasting an permanent damage.
I mean even family guy does jokes about things going extinct an them "the dumb religious people" protest about bring back species WE killed:facepalm:

Yeah that’s a big scam. You simply cannot reduce oxidized carbon back to its high energy state found in hydrocarbons without putting in the same amount of energy you get by burning that fuel . Hydrocarbons react with oxygen and this reaction releases energy stored in the carbon - carbon and carbon - hydrogen bonds and forms less energetic carbon - oxygen and hydrogen - oxygen bonds. To synthetically recreate those hydrocarbon bonds requires an input of energy equal to that hydrocarbon’s energy content.
