I genuinely just want to understand. I'm not here to argue, bully, dispute or degrade anyone or anything.

I've been absolutely railroaded many times over for speaking aloud my observations of America, so I am really hankering to know what it is like from the opposite perspective.

Well, I think people are people.
In any culture you have a mix.

All different sorts. In fact each person is a million different people depending which day you catch them, and what is their relation to you.

That said, Brits are cool.
I like that raucus way Brits talk back to the speaker in parliament.
Very funny! But the white wigs got to go!

I'd want to drink a beer in the uk but the visions are getting strong getting off of that.

I'm as of recent analysis a bit uk and wales, a bit irish, 2% italian, and eartern europe russian, and germanic.  They over estimate the %'s.

We don't know who all banged who in the family tree.  Rumor is Have family I don't know about.

I think opinions vary in different circles. I don't think I've ever heard people talk shit about the British outside of jest. Maybe oral hygiene but that's all I can think of. There are some SUPER sexy British models and being real, British accents can make things sound more interesting, in my opinion. I feel like for some reason it establishes credibility. Sounds dumb I know.

well me and my brother separately came to the conclusion that young british males are complete dicks. Which now that I'm typing it I realize that simply all young males are probably complete dicks.

But man when I was in england we would get antagonized by groups of young british boys for no friggin reason. Being all obnoxious and in our face, was strange. Like we're all significantly older than them, just in a public park and they'd group up and try to start shit

Beyond that afaik you're just white people who talk weird and have a weird sense of humor.

Since this thread was made because of me, I’ll give you a real response JSB.

Ever since I was a little girl I always wanted to be British.
I used to always think it was so unfair my family would never agree to move to England.
I remember even spelling mom as mum and color and colour and trying to have an accent until my parents forced me to stop.

I grew up reading Louis, Tolkien, Rowling and stories about Morgan le Fay.
When I turned into an angsty sad girl growing up I had Joy Division, Sex Pistols, and the Clash.
Growing up I always was enthralled by history from a young age and I always remember English history being my favorite.
I feel like I just always grew up with the vision of it being “someplace over he rainbow, someplace better than here where people are good to each other.” (HA)

I’ve been to England twice and absolutely loved the place, I’d much rather live there if I wasn’t tied down over here.
I’d love to go back sometime soonish for a vacation, but who knows.
When Lily finally decides to retire and my son does to college I’d love to settle down in an old Victorian outside of London for part of the year but the world will likely be in flames before then.

But ya, I’d rather be a Brit than a Yank any day, shits outright embarrassing.

You know, I've seen that kind of antagonistic  behavior from foriegn people a lot. Especially jamaican boys. Where I live that shit doesn't fly. Going around picking fights is a great way to get shoot in the head. I think maybe it's the lack of guns in other countries. The knowledge that anyone could pull a trigger on you, and the police don't have time to care, pretty much keeps people civil.

I can only speak for the parts of america I've been to. In america, at least in the north eastern part, the conventional wisdom is to not fuck with people. You mind your own buisness and don't talk to strangers. An argument about a parking spot could end with gun shots or a stabbing. People kill each other over less.

British people are either super smooth and charismatic and likeable, or the most unbearable fuckers in the world. Australian people are cooler cuz they dont have that heavily feminine undertone that European cultures tend to have. More similar to American style culture, if you wanna bring up the comparison. Gritty frontier shit and all dat.

The one bad thing about the US is the tendency for youngins who have never really fought for any of the freedoms they have, shitting on the entire concept of the country.  They are so worthless that instead of standing up and represent the truth that they offer up as a part of the country, they cry and moan about how bad things are as they sit on their ass expecting their fuckin butler to deliver their flawless image of what things should be on a silver platter..

Is that common over there or have the people born past, 2000ish, managed to keep some level of respect for one another and the group goal?
