New to Phoenix
    #25787169 -

I just relocated from Wisconsin to Phoenix last week. So far I love it here.
I just wanted to ask the shroomery community about cool things to do or cool place to trip here.

Find some hiking trails in the mountain range.

Also, look out for the mysterious lights at night

Just found out there is a three day long Psychedelic Conference next weekend here but it's sold out. I do love the fact that Arizona has medical marijuana. Got my card very quickly since I am disabled from back surgery.
Anyway it's pretty awesome here so far.

You can go tubing on the local river there in late summer depending on rain and that is fun.  Your usually cases of beer and everyone partying type thing.

Ya getting a card here is a joke.

Cool places to go usually are up north.

Jerome is crazy
Prescott, Payson, Strawberry, Flagstaff are all great for camping.
Kayaking at lake pleasant always nice.

Night life you got Mill ave in tempe which is basically for college kids. Then old town Scottsdale which is little older still very young crowds. Finally you have downtown which is mainly hipster young adults.

I like to stick to the basic stuff for the clubs are so loud u cant hear shit and have to deal with tons of assholes.

Thanks for the info. I just went to Mill St in Tempe today. Found a birthday gift for my daughter at cool hippie shop. Hippy Gypsy is the name. Bought a necklace for my daughter that was made using a cross section of ayauasca vine. Guy collected the vine in Equador with a shaman. Pretty cool

Do not move to Tucson. Its terrible. I’ve lived here 21 years. They have ghost towns and thats it. Huge numbers of homless people. Last time I went and stopped at a gas station a bum crawled out of a dumpster asking for money.

It is called the asshole of AZ. Not to mention its a college city with lots of douches. I’m sure you can have a good time at the ostrich farm but otherwise it is not a place you want to ā€œrelaxā€ maybe get drunk out black out.

Take a drive up Apache Trail from Apache Junction to Roosevelt Lake.  Its beautiful scenery.  There are lots of opportunities for hiking and exploring up there.  The road is unpaved for most of the way, but it is well maintained and sedans drive it all the time.  Just make sure your brakes are in good shape.  On the drive back you can check out Globe.  Huge copper mines there and some excellent old family-owned Mexican restaurants.

I live in Tempe.  Lotta shroomery folk round these parts tho most of us are old now and don't really socialize.

The phoenix Zoo is awesome.  The world wildlife zoo is also awesome.  The botanical gardens are amazing.  Hiking camelback mountain and climbing the rock in papago park is great stuff.  There are tons of raves, clubs, bars, etc to go to.  The museum and art center in down town is cool as fuck.  The Science center is awesome if you are younger (or high) and they also do an adults only themed night thing where you can get drunk and play with cool sciency shit not safe for kids.

We have millions of people in phoenix metro. You can find just about anything you could ever want to do here.

Sedona up north, as well as Flagstaff is also gorgeous.  You  can hit Mexico in about 4 hours if that's your thing.  Rocky point in mexico is a super popular beach area.  There are cool native american structures like montezumas castle, and similar places where ancient tribes built these crazy mud huts into the sides of cliffs.  There is the meteor crater which is exactly what it sounds like, a big motherfucking hole.  I found it neat to see for a min but the little museum it had attached was kinda meh for the cost.

Lets not forget the GRAND CANYON.  Everyone should at least visit the rim of it and see it once.  It looks surreal.  It's so big it looks like one of those oil paintings you see of it, not quite right in reality.

The entire northern half of the state is forest, plateaus, mountains, etc if camping is your thing.  The largest sand dunes in the US are too the south and are super popular for taking sand rails and dune buggies too.

IMO, take a weekend and a little bit of spending cash, buy a state map from a gas station and just pick a direction and drive and stop at all the little points of interest you see on the map along the way.

I have found worshipping Willis Carrier is the solution to all sweaty ball woes.  He is the patron saint of comfortable air temperatures and the bringer of sweet sweet summer sleeping comfort.  All praise be he, lord of a/c.

Tucson is a filthy trash city tho. šŸ˜Ž

Hi Headrush , how are you adjusting to Phoenix? Have you had any luck with connecting with other shroomers outside of this forum ? I’m new to Phoenix as well and went on a few hunts up north and even tried growing my self with no success , Ive been looking for a tutor to help with setting me up for a successful grow , I have zero experience with Shrooms and have never even seen any outside of a grocery store so if you know anyone willing to help Please send them my way willing to pay for the help. I would be doing all the work just would like someone watching over everything for the initial set up . Thanks

if you can't figure it out on your own from the information available on this site, you should  probably switch hobbies.
