Call me crazy but due to the fact that psilocybin and psilocin breakdown occurs as a function of oxidation accelerated by heat when drying. couldn't we desiccate faster and hotter in a elevated C02 or N2 environment?

Heat breaks down the enzymes responsible for degradation. To lock potency in use hot air.

Oxygen in the air isn't the enemy, water in the cells facilitating degradation after harvesting is.

Thanks good to know. After so more research I found out that the oxidation that occurs is an auto-oxidation that occurs from the native oxygen in the flesh. So it wouldn't have made a difference. Though the auto-oxidation that occurs binds two of the molecules together with an oxygen to make it inactive. but it's bond can be broken with acetic acid and become active again.

bod do you have a favorite temp for dehydration?
