inoculation dose, BRF Cakes and grain spawn

I've been inoculating my BRF-cakes with multispore syringes. The syringes are all 20 ml and they say that they are guaranteed to contain enough ready-to-use spores to inoculate up to 10 250ml jars of substrate.

So at first I tried to stick with that dose and realized the jars take much longer to colonize than what people report. So I increased the dose and noticed that my jars now colonize faster. They are not giving higher yields though and as I understand now with BRF cakes, they will not give more than 4 flushes in most cases anyway. Is it really no use to increase the dose and is it just wasting the spores?

They don't give a recommendation for how much to use for a 520 ml jar of grain spawn either. How can I calculate the right those for my grain spawns from the information they have given me on BRF cakes?
