The gun control stuff doesn't work unless it becomes a federal thing, all states comply, and it gets a lot stricter.  Then it will take years for it to fully start to function.  That's the sad state of it.  We have so many guns and the gun ideals are so ingrained in american thinking that even if we did a full all out ban on guns and never made a single one ever again it would still take decades for the current ones to go out of circulation, break, become so expensive the average nut can't afford to shoot up a club, etc...

It's still better than no gun control.  It just isn't going to be effective like people want.

the evidence is clear that this level of gun control does nothing but cripple law abiding citizens ablity to own and carry guns.  it doesnt prevent mass killings or even shootings.

Nah, thats some bullshit.  Studies have been done on massive scales that show more guns = more violence.  Directly related.  Studies have also been done that show that MOST people who are just 'armed citizens' are actually shit at using their weapons and either don't use em, escalate the situation and make it worse, or hurt themselves or others.

Current gun laws are definitely not living up to standards.  Everyone having guns is far far far worse.  Statistics don't lie.

I seriously doubt that more guns=more violence care to link that? Again those studies that show that guns dont prevent shootings have been debunked along time ago. if u link one that doesnt skew the numbers maybe ill change my mind

Studies have shown that studies are parametrically biased toward the agenda ov those who are conducting it.

People deserve the right to protect themselves with firearms and the best form ov gun control is through the respect, as opposed to the fear, ov guns.  If the U.S. would eventually become a land ov strict gun control, as Mndfreeze seems to wish, i wonder how many more people would die in the mass bombings?  Because, you know, that's what mass killers like to use in places where they cant get guns.

I talk about this with respect given to those who most unfortunately die in these attacks.  The topic has been debated ad astra and as always people tend to react to fear.  A society which cultures respect instead ov fear will always propagate a greater sense ov well-being for its denizens.  The current climate ov the U.S. is fueled by the fear pushed by the safety brigade leftist parental and education structure, not the so-called 'gun culture'.  Restriction breeds mutation.  Why do you think there are so many drug addicts and kid fucking priests?

"One neighbor who knew (the 29 year old shooter) Ian David Long said he was a veteran who suffered from PTSD.
She said, "I don't know what he was doing with a gun." Others said Long lived at the home with his mother.

His gun, which appears to be a .45-caliber (glock) handgun, was purchased legally, according to ABC News.
AP reports that he also deployed a smoke device."

Not even, we're already past being able to manufacture our own guns in our own homes. And it will only get easier, cheaper, and better.

Who cares what some neighbor says. That neighbor likely would say no one belongs with a gun.

California should get rid of gun control so it can go back to being more safe like the Midwest. I can almost guarantee that the bar that got shot up had one of these

The best place to shoot up sign.

If guns don't solve problems. I would strongly suggest no one calls law enforcement during the next mass shooting.

I doubt gun control would work in the long run as long as the world governments are still involved in arms trade. Ever seen a doc series like drugs inc or any of the other trafficking shows? Part of that supply gets diverted to the black market inevitably and it's not that hard to find. People act like the weapons black market isn't a threat, but it already exists and plenty of Mac 10's, Ak47's and other illicit weapons are common tools of the trade for drug dealing. The demand for that sort of thing is currently limited to mostly criminals, but that could easily change if people feel like their second amendment rights are threatened and could expand the market.

I'd be interested to know a bit more about the studies you're referring to. I can't criticize without having seen them, but I wonder about the generalizability. Were they conducted in some small european farming village with low demand for guns? Were they conducted during a period of prohibition across the whole of the US? Do they account for the current state of the black market? Do they account for it's ability to adapt over the long term? For changing global policy? I would not be surprised by the second half of your statement which is why I think gun education is very important. And I am in favor of stricter control. But prohibition is the opposite of control. It is directly relinquishing control for goods in demand to unregulated markets.

Countries that enforce strict gun control have very few mass shootings.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that there's a correlation.

There's been 265 here this year alone.

Sounds like you're skewing the stats to match your narrative, Higher crime areas increase the number of firearm owning/carrying civs. We are at a historic low for all crime rates (except maybe political), but you wouldn't know it listening to the news.
