South texas mushroom id
    #25571601 -

Habitat:
My grandpa has about 50 yards of a grassy pasture and another 50 of wooded area with trees that provide shade in south texas, one of the most southern 3 counties. They were growing in seperate moist patches of dirt that were surrounded by dead pieces of wood.

Gills:
Dark brown/black or purple cant really tell

Stem:
Tan brown color with squishy interior so not hollow. Turns a dark brown but not vivid purple bruise. Really sensitive

Cap:
Alien skin type gray with a barely portruding brown nipple

Spore print color: black/purple

Other information:
My family raises cows on those 100 yards for about 20 years so i was searching for psylocibe cubensis but wouldnt find anything resembling them golden ones. I found different types i dont know of either to get spore print compraisons but the ones i want to id seem like a better shot than any others .

Nice to see a fellow South Texan! Looks like you might have some panaeolus papilionaceus in that first picture. Keep an eye out for cubes I’ve been finding so many I don’t even know what to do with them. When you do find some flick the cap to help drop spores before picking them.

Welcome to shroomery
