What's something about yourself you want to work on?
    #25550219 -

And how are you addressing it and improving yourself?

initiating a intimate relationship.

I got this weird anxiety thing whenever I start realizing someone reciprocates feelings for me. I sabotage it so they won't get close to me. Its super strange.

Just focusing on being more vulnerable and open. Realizing my fears are absurd and dumb

im tapering my kratom usage to the point that if i dont have a chance to dose that day, it doesnt really affect me at all.  I was probably taking close to 20 grams a day for a few months and it really fucked with me.  PRobably because i used to be a heroin addict so my brain went through worse withdrawals than an opiate naive person would i think

im proud of myself because its been a long ten years of finding out how to not be opiod dependent now i feel free and it helps my wallet.  can sell a bunch more kratom without eating it.

And he don't sit around all angry and bored

A lot. Going on 6 months of pretty intensive weekly therapy.

I had to address a lot of my behaviors that I was aware of, but had no idea how to improve on them.
Manipulation via different ways including lying was a big one, which would come out when I got drunk.

Years since that, but it's still who I am. And a big reason why I don't drink anymore.

Being assertive with women, and now in my relationship without being too passive is another I work on constantly. Being 100% open, honest and communicative with my girl has led to me actually being able to accept love without doubts. The other benefits include less arguments about petty things, and a sex life where we both get and give exactly what we want.

Life is good.

The materialism instilled in me from where I lived most of my life is thankfully long gone. I never realized how bad it was until I literally got rid of everything besides some clothes, camping gear, my skis, and my mountain bike.

Life is beyond good.

I deal with unecessary anxieties fairly regularly, that I drown out with benzo's and occasionally alcohol.

Been doing this on and off for like 10 years but now when I went to go taper off benzo's, the rebound anxiety is worse than it ever was any previous tapers and it's been more difficult.  Just getting anxious feelings daily, increased heart rate, recurring negative thoughts, which have been making it difficult to be ok sober.

But I am taking like .5-1mg daily of alpraz or clonaz, down from my 3mg+ daily 6 months ago.

I don't drink everyday now and try to only do it on the weekends, but sometimes lately, the feeling of anxiety, being relieved by a quick beer or pill is becoming too easy to do.

Which I am becoming more conscious of and trying to develop different skills to cope.
