I think the reason for jackpots getting really big is usually that there were previous ones where nobody won the main jackpot, and then it carries over. And yeah the money comes from ticket sales.

I'd give all of it away to charities and other organisations doing good work and use it to set up foundations that will be self-funded for ever.

Why would any one person want $970 M? Money only causes misery. Look at the stats on lottery winners and what became of them several years later.

Pretty sure it'll be well over a billion.

Ticket sales haven't closed yet so people will be out buying all day. I'll throw $20 to it. Not because I think I'll win, but that $20 will provide me a few hours of wondering and daydreaming today.

Do you know that as a fact or are you assuming? Either way, I'm not one to brag. Winning the lottery is not a mark of personal achievement.


I'm assuming.  I also didn't say a single thing about bragging or it being an achievement, I see you trying to slip those in there.

Money only causes misery for people who have all their needs met.  It would solve nearly every one of my problems right now.

Yeah, life has a way of laughing at my dad for being a nice guy.  Ain't fair, that kind man deserves the world.

Though gambling is not only about playing the lottery. Look at horse races and casinos and how these attract a different type of gambler.

Thats bad ass. We got a winner here!

I bought $10 worth. Used a random number generator on my phone. The range of numbers to pick on that app was off but oh well :shrug: I figured it out.

Its crazy to think all this money comes from ticket sales. Insane.

If only there was a "charity lottery". I wonder if anyone would buy :strokebeard:
