Pregnancy
    #25186969 -

Hi,

I just found out yesterday that I'm almost 6 week pregnant. They sent me for an emergency scan and they confirmed that so far it looks fine. There is a sack, it's inside the womb and with a hearbeat already.

So after the news, I had 4.5 dried grams left in my room that I locked away. But I still have the cake, which so far has keep giving me batches.

So I'm thinking if in about 7/10 more days I get new fresh shrooms, what am I going to do with them?

Please don't take me wrong!
I know that now that know that I'm pregnant I should not take any drugs, not even alcohol. But my partner is not into this, he's never tried and he's not interested on them at all. So I think that it will be a waste if I have to throw them away...

So I've thinking today, what about heat and cooking them to make a nice risotto?

I tried to look for information on the internet but I cannot fully find out if it will be safer for the heat or if the potency will lower. All I see about pregnancy is that it's recommended "supermarket" mushrooms and to avoid raw, wild and magic ones.

But this isn't enough detailed for me.
I don't know if only reason for this advice is due to the psichodelic compounds and if other than that are like a normal mushroom.

I don't know if I heat them enough and use them to a flavour a risotto and while eating it avoiding the pieces of the mushroom itself it may still be risky. (This is more or less the idea I have in mind)

I would also like to clarify if necessary, that other than that I have not take any other drugs. No tabaco, weed, alcohol, medicines, etc.. only caffeine and sugar to be picky

I'm on the right subforum to ask this? Maybe there is an expert here about this topic?

Seriously? Like seriously?

Probably not a lot of study done on that subject. Seeing as it has the potential to screw up a life before it gets started, Now that you are pregnant you should start thinking about the mushrooms you want to do in 18 or so years.

Not a pro, just common sense that drugs can mess up babies. Time to grow up and think of someone other than yourself if you plan to carry that child to term.

1.You can just dry the mushrooms with a food dehydrator, they are not that expensive. If you do that they can last up to years (yes, with keeping the potency). If you can't buy food dehydrator for some reason there are many other ways to dry them, just look it up.
2.DON'T, I REPEAT, DON'T TAKE THE MUSHROOMS WHILE YOU HAVE A FUCKING BABY IN YOUR WOMB.I CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH ON HOW STUPID THAT WOULD BE.This is a fucking life we are talking about. Not some item or tool that you can make experiments with.Just wait for the baby to be born and you can consider taking the shrooms after that.

Thank you for all your replies.
I see a consensus that is not certain whether this is safe or not, neither studies done, so therefore the only thing safe to do it's not to eat them cooked (raw is discarted from the beggining)

The way I've been drying them so far is with a weak fan, it takes me up to 2 days or more to make them dry until they are 1/10 of their original weight.

I'm not sure with the way I do it if their properties will last for very long and I'm not willing to spend in a thingy that from now on I won't give any use, so as my partner said that he is willing to try the magic risotto, I will cook it for him only.

I'm glad that he has accepted at the end, I will finally make him try them and hopefully he might get a glimpse of divine magic.. :p

1.Heat kills the psilocybin in the mushrooms, but even then I have heard stories of peole making soups with 20+ grams and going high af

Psilocybin doesn't melt until over 400F, it survives cooking.

Wow.. So far lots of misinformation has been given

First, heat does not break down psilocybin like once thought a while ago,  it requires much higher temperatures than boiling water.  https://erowid.org/plants/mushrooms/mushrooms_info7.shtml

Second, you do not have to wait 18 years before you can eat mushrooms again LOL that's just absurd. I've attached a PDF to this post from mother to baby website. Well I was searching for some information that came across some studies saying that mushrooms during the first trimester could be potentially damaging to the infant, but during the second and third trimester there is no data that shows any toxicity or potential harm to the baby. But mainly abstinence is recommended because of the lack of information out there. But as soon as you shoot that baby out then giver! Mushrooms definitely help with depression and could help with postpartum.

I would actually recommend you ask your doctor when you go in to talk to them about your little one. They'd probably air on the side of caution and recommend not to do it until after your baby is born as well, but you'd way more accurate information than on a message board.

Congratulations by the way!

Flush thanks for clarify! And also I appreciate the positive approach.

I'm clear now to not to take them even cooked, for safety.

But to be honest, the lastest part worries me more... because I tried them 1 or 2 times already before knowing I was pregnant, that's during the 1st trimestrer... but I must say that I haven't take nothing else other than the shrooms, no tabaco, no alcohol, meds, other drugs, etc.. nothing.
So I want to stay positive, I know woman that did way worse and had very healthy babies anyway.

About telling my doctor, I don't know what use will be that, other than be on my report that I take ilegal drugs and also I work on that hospital. Doctors are also human beings with prejudices..., some of them.

I considered what you said, to restart after childbirth, on microdoses, in case of any depression.

As Ill be a first time mum and other than my partner I have all my family away so... this new situation could bring this and the reason I started taking shrooms anyway a few months ago was because I'm a bit of an anxious person and they really worked very well for that, to turned me very chill.

Although they benefit me very much I can live without them, now I know that Im pregnant Im ok to stop until childbirth. Breastfeeding effects dont concern me that much as the baby will be "done" already.

But as a first timer, they tell me is expected to come late, + 40 weeks.

For that reason, some abstinent woman from 39 weeks they start taking a beer or so time to time, to relax and maybe induce it a bit, as the baby at that time is already done and the pregnancy at that point becomes very physically and emotionally handicaping for the woman... I may consider, only if by that time everything has went far fine, to do a bit of microdosing.

OK...  While I do not condone drug use while pregnant, I will say this.    Many of good people have come from parents who use drugs during pregnancy.

Then again, many of fucked up losers have come from junkie moms.

Your decision is your own.

I know this is an ooooold thread, but u should just dry the shrooma completely, then store.

Then whem your daughter turns 1 year old, THEN get a baby sitter and take those magical shrooms!
