Hello everyone. For those that don't know me, my name be Mr. Magenta and i be straight.

This is a thread to discuss social media issues lightly, with a focus on Facebock
Personally i am not a fan of the website Facebock. I do have an account, but it is a reluctant decision and purely to keep in touch with old friends with the message service and to easily organise events within that group of people.

Can we all bitch about this website and the people that use it?

I'll start. The website is ridiculously slow for one, considering what you get. What the hell! youtube is faster and that plays videos.
The design. Why the fuck do i not get every person that i'm friends with updates? I honestly don't know this. It can be fixed however by making every friend a close friend... Hold on. Why do i get posts three days old at the top and post from one hour ago all the way down the feed? Posts are arranged by relevance... What the fuck is relevance!? That honestly insults me. What's more insulting is that i can speculate to have my newsfeed arranged via date but it won't save and i'll have to re-speculate every other time afterward.

This is only talking about facebook's design. The people that use Facebook are even worse for condoning the issue by remaining ignorant of these flaws. Blindly using Facebook, perpetuating the medium by spreading stupid shit like :

This is an example of the dumbest of the dumb. People that have explored social media, i'm sure are aware of it. The ridiculous on slur of share, share, share, share of random crap that makes people feel connected through recognizable media imagery while never really portraying any meaningful point or influential opinion. It's a charade.

Ofcourse there's also people that realise that they're connected to a lot more people than usual and in an empirical power trip, seeking self worth they vocally express the most adamant opinions upon obvious points.
Recently i had someone say this:

Quote:

I’ve just had a discussion with the kids about not ever going in anyone’s house/car, or even approaching them if it’s someone we don’t know and haven’t said it’s ok. It may seem a bit harsh that I’ve just dumped a nasty truth of the world into their minds - not everyone has good intentions - but that story of the child murderer not only playing the system to avoid any form of justice, but actually hanging out in this area, was a timely reminder to make sure they understand how important it is to be somewhat on their guard.
