Do you think you can cultivate it? There are vendors selling dried specimens online... Do you mind sharing your hypothesis?

I could try and infect other species. wont hurt to try.

Imagine a king pleurothus tasting of lobster...:crazy2:

I have seen the hypomyces chrysospermus, the one that turns bolets into a yeallow "mummy", that I can get my hands on, which by the wy turns out not to be edible.

but my idea would be to "infect" gourmet species (like this you know what you are collecting) rather than run the risk of picking a wild one that has been infected.

I would like to order some, I am intrigued by the taste of lobster that I never found with H. erinaceus. Is there any chance this could grow on agar? If it is possible to isolate it, I would feed it an invitro fruitbody.

It only infects specific species.
